It wasn't a completely joyous movie, though, as a number of characters were killed off, the biggest of which was the brutal death of Qui-Gon Jin, played by Liam Neeson. Now, over 20 years after The Phantom Menace, Neeson himself has explained that he would be open to returning to the franchise in one way or another. Speaking in a recent interview, Neeson was asked about his time on the franchise, to which he explained he was unaware of the fervour around his character.
