As we bask in the splendour of our hour-long sunrises and sunsets, it shouldn’t be lost on us that they are due in large part to the absence of air traffic. It is a profound irony that air travel, a lifeline to physically (and intimately) connecting our world has virtually ceased, and the atmosphere has never been so pure.

Yes, jet aircraft are significant polluters, but they play a vital role in our collective well being. Until they run on say, electricity, we have to recognize that the total elimination of fossil fuels is not yet possible but certainly a goal within reach given time. How would our isolated northern communities exist without diesel generation?
