J.P. Sredzinski abruptly resigned from his seat representing Newtown and Monroe on Wednesday because he could no longer balance the demands of a promotion at work and his family life with public service, he said. “There is no scandal and no drama here other than me re-calibrating my life and my future and what is most important to me,” Sredzinski told Hearst Connecticut Media shortly after delivering a letter of resignation to Secretary of the State Denise Merrill. “And what is most important to me by far is my family, and my career.”
