Still no plan from province on future of remaining Lake Superior caribou
Groups hoping to bring the Lake Superior caribou back from the brink of extinction continue to be frustrated by stalling from the provincial government. Three years ago some animals were airlifted to isolated islands on the great lake to keep them from being eaten by wolves.

Michipicoten First Nation is still waiting for a management plan from the provincial government on what is to become of the last few remaining caribou on the mainland. Three years ago some caribou were airlifted to an island to save the population from wolves.(Christian Schroeder)
