Student leader released on bail after 30 days The president of the Zimbabwe National Students Union has been released on bail after about 30 days in prison. He was previously held for about 30 days in October 2020. Takudzwa Ngadziore was given bail of ZWL$5,000 (US$60) on 26 March, a month after he was arrested with two other office bearers of the Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU), Tapiwanashe Chiriga, the secretary general, and Nancy Njenge, the gender secretary. The three are being charged with inciting public violence. Ngadziore’s recent imprisonment followed a wave of student arrests in which 13 students were arrested for protesting against the detention of another activist and former student leader, Makomborero Haruzivishe.
