The students, student organizations and administration of Dhaka University (DU) demanded a proper investigation into the mysterious death of the university’s student Hafizur Rahman, whose body was found in the morgue of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) with his throat slit on Sunday.
On Monday, a group of students formed a human chain at the foot of Raju Memorial Sculpture on the university campus demanding justice for Hafizur.
Besides, several student organizations including Samajtantrik Chhatra Front, Bangladesh Chhatra Union and Chhatra Odhikar Parishad issued statements demanding a quick probe into the death.
DU Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman expressed his condolences for the ‘unnatural death’ of the student. He requested the law enforcement agencies concerned to submit an investigation report as quickly as possible.
