Article content I’ve enjoyed reading about the days of yore when Sudbury’s downtown was a thriving place and I agree with Christian Pelletier in his impassioned letter of his vision for downtown. Downtowns are the heart of any city – specialty shops, restaurants, cafes, sports bars, commercial businesses, book stores, live theatre. Sure, big box stores have driven business from the core, but if the plan is to completely destroy the lifeblood of a city, by all means, build a major event centre away from the hub and build it near a dump at the city’s extreme edge.
