Posted By: chrismaslen January 30, 2021 @ 4:58 am Local News, News Amateur baseball players aged 18 and up as well as former professional ballplayers have an opportunity to participate in The SummerBall Showdown at the Genesis Sports Complex in Goddard. Tournament Director Steve Shaad said the event is a 501 C-3 non-profit that will give back to the baseball community, without having a negative impact on other spectator events. Ballplayers must be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate in 2021, and must be an ex-professional as of May 1st. The summer league tournament will be from July 28th to August 1st, 2021 and offers a $20,000 grand prize to the winning team (In accordance with NCAA and amateur rules).
