Sunday of the Passion ~ Palm Sunday We meet outside in Wright Square for the Procession with Palms. The movement of this day—from shouts of praise to words of denial and cries for crucifixion—mirrors the path of discipleship. Oftentimes, to grasp the fullness of something significant, we have to look at both sides. So it is that to approach the meaning of Christ, we have to say two things: Jesus and Christ; human and divine; death and resurrection; bread and body. This Sunday we celebrate these two sides: we begin by praising Christ with the song of the angels, and we go on to shout “Crucify him!”
