Sunday shooting in South Bend stemmed from altercation at Corby's, documents show


SOUTH BEND — Police have arrested a man accused of being involved in a Sunday shooting in the Keller Park neighborhood.
James Smith Jr., 23, was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on Sunday and faces four charges for his alleged involvement in the incident that left one person injured.
Smith is charged with criminal recklessness, battery by means of a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, all felonies, and dealing marijuana, a misdemeanor.
According to court documents, three boys, listed as Roger, Alex and Jared in court documents, were at Corby’s Irish Pub on Sunday morning when Smith allegedly hit one of them in the face and got into his van, which his girlfriend was driving, and left.
