CHATHAM, Va. â Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors approved two music festivals during their June 22 meeting. Each event will see roughly 8,000 attendees per day.
Once the session was called into action, the meeting agenda was amended to allow for a hearing of the citizens. During this portion, Chatham-Blairs District resident Jonathan Hollie expressed his concerns over the venues and the potential negative effects it could have on the community. He asked the board to hold events accountable and to assure that they follow county ordinance.
âThis is done so that these events have the best possible outcome and the least amount of negative effects on our community,â Hollie said.
