Siskiyou Daily News Two juveniles were arrested last week after Yreka Police found the boys in possession of irreplaceable swords, silver medallions and scroll ledgers which had been reported stolen during a Feb. 15 break-in at the historic Howard Masonic Lodge #37. The estimated value of the items was $8,000, and the value of the vandalism was about $1,100, said Yreka Police Department Lt. Chris Betts. But it wasn't the price tag on the items that bothers the Masons the most – it's the sentimental and historic value, said lodge secretary Mike Murphy. All the items except for one – a replica of the famous Masonic statue "Friend to Friend" were recovered, said Murphy, who praised to the YPD and especially Officer Pat Dircksen who solved the case and "is the man, as far as we're concerned."
