Syracuse man expected to survive after being stabbed in stomach Updated Mar 05, 2021; Syracuse, N.Y. – A Syracuse man was stabbed Thursday night and taken to Upstate University Hospital where he is expected to survive, according to police. Syracuse police officers found Emer Rodriguez, 36, who was stabbed in the stomach and hand, when they arrived at a home in the 100 block of East Bissell Street at 10:24 p.m. Police identified Salvador Torres, 42, of Syracuse, as a suspect in the stabbing. He was arrested and charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. Torres was jailed at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
