JOEL JULIEN Trinidad and Tobago has been ranked 86 out of 180 countries on the Corruption Perception Index 2020. This was a drop from one place compared to 2019. The country maintained the same score of 40 between the two years. “It means we are at a point where we are not moving,” stated chairman of the T&T Transparency Institute, Dion Abdool, as the results were revealed today. He said action is needed to improve on this country’s score and ranking. The average global score was 43. “Jamaica (44), Trinidad and Tobago (40), and the Dominican Republic (28) all showed little improvement on the CPI,” the report stated.
