They say you should never allow a good crisis to go to waste. And so it is for Abodoo, one of the Irish tech scene's breakout stars of the Covid-19 crisis. Abodoo, a platform that matches remote workers with employers, was set up in 2017 by Wexford-based husband-and-wife team Vanessa Tierney and Ben Wainwright, and has come into its own amid the widely-proclaimed "death of the office". The startup, which is run by Tierney, became the first female-led technology company from Ireland to tap UK crowdfunding platform Crowdcube and has also attracted investors such as John Riordan, head of the fully remote Irish operations of e-commerce giant Shopify, and Dan and Linda Kiely from Voxpro.
