Teachers at a secondary school in Greenwich have gone on strike in defence of a psychology teacher who faces being sacked after speaking out over the alleged improper use of Covid tests. Kirstie Paton, a teacher at the John Roan School for 20 years, is facing dismissal at a disciplinary hearing today (April 30) after speaking out about health and safety at the school. So a number of teachers and union reps have walked out on the eve of the teacher's disciplinary hearing, and have threated further strikes if the employer "goes ahead with their threat to dismiss her." The NEU has led calls to strike in defence of Kirstie, who is a NEU co-representative at the Greenwich school, and say that they have been "left with no choice" but to defend their rep.
