Mar 9, 2021 Joseph Myvett A teenager was killed in a motorcycle accident on Friday. Police say that the nineteen-year-old was riding a motorcycle on Queen Victoria Avenue in Orange Walk Town when she was killed. ACP Joseph Myvett tells us more.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch “Upon arrival police learnt that Manuel Garcia was riding his motorcycle from a north to south direction and at the time he was accompanied by his girlfriend Greiza Mendoza, nineteen-year-old, who was the passenger. They were overtaken by a black SUV which suddenly turned right in front of them and in order to avoid a collision, Garcia rode onto the sidewalk, losing control where he fell from the cycle and eventually still crashed into the SUV. His passenger Greiza Mendoza was also injured and they were both transported to the Northern Regional Hospital and Mendoza was later transferred to the KHMH and on yesterday’s date she succumbed to her injuries.”
