Photo: Chloe Skead Former U18 ‘AAA’ Kenora Thistles alternate captain Jace Dittaro will be suiting up for the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Portage Terriers when the puck drops on the 2021/2022 season. The 18-year-old defender only spent one season with the Thistles where he made an appearance in each of the five games the club played in the SIJHL against the Fort Frances Lakers. As a 6’5″ right-shot puck-moving defender, Thistles head coach Scott Parsons tells us that Dittaro was everything a coach could want. “Jace ate up a lot of minutes in the games that we played,” says Parsons, “He was a trusted presence on the penalty kill as well as quarterbacking the power play. Always had intense focus when given instructions.”
