Government was owed $329.1 million in revenue arrears as at April 30, 2021, says the Economic and Fiscal Update to the 2021-2022 budget by the Ministry of Economy.
This included unpaid direct and indirect taxes, fees, rates, charges, penalties and fines. Fiji Revenue & Customs Service (FRCS) had revenue arrears of $199.5 million that were direct and indirect taxes.
A total of $49.4m was for Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) unpaid water bills while the Ministry of Lands & Mineral Resources was owed $27.4m in land and survey fees.
Land Transport Authority (LTA) had revenue arrears of $21.7 million in fees and fines, with $13.2 million owed to Judiciary Department in court fees and
