GCC Foundation sets sights on raising $1.3M through annual campaign SALOMON-FERNANDEZ Published: 4/8/2021 8:28:47 PM GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Community College Foundation kicked off its annual fundraising campaign this week with virtual announcements from campaign co-chairs and stories from students, who shared their experiences as beneficiaries. Its goal of $1.3 million is higher than ever before. In her opening remarks, GCC President Yves Salomon-Fernandez said that despite the loss and hardship many experienced in 2020, there are reasons to be cheerful, including the commitment of community members who support the college and its students through donations to the GCC Foundation. Executive Director Regina Curtis, who plans to retire later this year, noted that the state funds about 48 percent of what it costs to provide a GCC education. The other 52 percent is raised through donations, as well as tuition and fees, and grants.
