The TJU organized conference in Amar Pur With the initiative of the TJU (Tripura Journalists Union) the third biennial Gumati district and the first Amar pur and Karbook sub-divisional conference were held in Amarpur Revenue banglow today. To take participation the programme a large number of journalists from different parts of the district arrived in the revenue banglow in Amar Pur today. Pranab Sarkar, State Secretary of Tripura Journalists Union and Agartala Press Club Secretary inaugurated the first session of Tripura Journalists Union by lighting a lamp in the conference. After that, the second open session was inaugurated by the president of Gumati district council Swapan Adhikari by lighting a lamp at half past noon. Among the distinguished dignitaries there were Pranab Sarkar, State Secretary, Tripura Journalists Union, Ranjit Das, MLA, Sankarananda Saha, Chairperson, Amar pur Block Panchayat Samiti, Dilip Dutta, Gumati District Secretary, Tripura Journalists Union, Ratan Dey, President, Amar pur Sub-Divisional Committee remained present in the conference. Total 31 journalists and news workers of Gumati district have taken participation in the conference. A 16-member Gumati District Committee and a 6-member Amar pur-Karbook Committee were unanimously formed on the day. Pranab Sarkar, State Secretary, Tripura Journalists Union, launched the ILS Heath Card service for journalists at ILS Hospital on the same day. District Committee Secretary Dilip Datta and President Ratan Nutan Das has been nominated as treasurers. Amar pur and Karbook sub-divisional committee secretary Roopam Chakraborty, president Bhaskar Bhattacharya and treasurer Litan Chakraborty have been nominated by the authority. Addressing the journalists present in the programme hon'ble MLA Ranjit Das said, " The contribution of the journalists in this democratic administration is most significant. We are grateful to them for their good job. As the four pillar of the democracy the media has a remarkable part in the appreciable administration. " He inspired the reporters to work more sincerely for the betterment of the society.
