THE Bannu Development Authority (BDA) was formed to execute developmental works in the urban areas of Bannu in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Some five years ago, it had collected Rs1,000 per home from the residents of Bannu Township in order to provide them natural gas. The entire community submitted millions of rupees to BDA, but is still waiting for the day when gas would be supplied to their homes. The residents have not only held peaceful protests in front of the BDA office on several occasions, but have also shared their concerns with the local legislators. Sadly, none of their efforts have borne any fruit to date.
