The Tomorrow War I had gotten into Ted Lasso about halfway through its first season last year because I, like many others, were just scoffing at the concept that was based on some goofy TV spots from years ago. But, being an Apple TV+ subscriber, I’ll try almost anything they produce for at least an episode because you never know. And I ended up becoming an evangelist for the series last year, one of the perfect summer-pandemic-era shows with its optimism, hope, and support-building elements. All of that is carried forward to the new season here which launched with the first episode and I couldn’t be happier. I don’t want to binge this show. I want to savor it week to week and just enjoy those moments. This one is mostly about where the team is now that they’ve been booted down a level and how they’re all coping. A new character or two enters the picture and we see how lives are different, such as Roy Kent, quite possibly one of the best characters ever put to screen. I can’t wait to see more of this project unfold this year.
