Salvation Army pillar of support in the community - Hundreds of cars line up to receive a hot meal and gift voucher at the Salvation Army's 89th Annual Christmas Luncheon. Nassau, Bahamas - The Salvation Army has made it its mandate to "rescue Christmas," enlisting a team of volunteers in love's army to feed those in need at its 89th Annual Community & Senior's Luncheon. More than 300 persons were treated to a special lunch and gift voucher to help brighten their holiday season. This year, the annual luncheon took the form of a drive-through to adhere to social distancing protocols. "This year's luncheon was special because we were able to provide hope for many who were affected greatly by the covid-19 pandemic," stated Melanese Coakley, Salvation Army Community Relations & Development Associate. "We are forever thankful to our donors and volunteers who all came together to help those in need."
