The latest is Pune Municipal Corporation’s ( PMC) proposal to widen 335 roads across the city, to a breadth of nine metres. With many of the identified streets being the leafy by-lanes of Deccan area, local residents are up in arms questioning the need to expand these stretches that see sparse traffic.
