Written By: Terry McCollough | × On Thanksgiving Day 24 years ago, Harold Peterson, then 15, was shot in the face by a .25-.35 bullet while hunting on the family Nokay Lake farm. The bullet lodged in his neck near the spine and it was too dangerous to remove. Recently he noticed a sore throat. Then yesterday while at the American Legion he coughed, and coughed-up the bullet. JANUARY 13 20 years ago (2001) Gas prices in the area took a significant jump yesterday, mirroring fuel cost increases from a year ago. Several gas stations increased prices from $1.44 to $1.63 per gallon overnight. Last January, gas prices rose from $1.20 to $1.39, eventually topping out in the $2.00 range by mid-summer.
