January 17, 2021 at 8:59 AM PATERSON, NJ - Members of the Paterson Police Department and Paterson Fire Department shut down three businesses that were reportedly “functioning as ‘after-hours’ party locations by remaining open after 10:00 p.m. and staying open until the early hours of the morning Friday into Saturday. According to Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale the complaints stated that the establishments would lock their doors to appear closed, but patrons were inside behind tinted or covered windows. The report stated that officials first visited La Fuente Bar, 43 Ellison Street, where they arrested manager Janet Mendoza, 49, after they are said to have found patrons inside while the front gates were closed. After numerous attempts at knocking and advising their presence Mendoza is said to have ignored the officers. Once inside officers are said to have found a number of patrons drinking at the bar.
