Ready to work and willing to take on the weather, staff at three Cape Cod theaters are making plans to emerge from pandemic shutdowns by moving outdoors. Provincetown Theater, Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater and Cape Rep Theatre in Brewster will all set up outside stages from June or July through Labor Day for their first in-person theater shows since 2019. The decisions are in part bids to survive financially and not lose audiences by being closed for two all-important summers in a row. But company officials also emphasize the need for both the theater-makers and their audience members to be back together in person.
