Top MSHS runner won it all in Cross Country – here's how he's preparing for track and field Siskiyou Daily News Runner Drew Hering did nothing but win during Mount Shasta High School's recent cross country season. The Bear junior will attempt to continue his winning ways during the track and field season, which kicked off over the weekend. Hering won all six races MSHS participated in. This includes placing first in the Shasta Cascade League Championships on March 19. Hering's used to success: as a freshman runner and again his sophomore year, Hering made state in Division Five. He placed 74th as a freshman, and 59th as a sophomore. There was no state meet this season due to COVID-19.
