At its March 1 meeting, the City Council unanimously approved the purchase and installation of new play equipment at Tot Lot Park for a cost not to exceed $85,100. The contractor selected for the work was Miracle Midwest. Tot Lot’s new equipment originally was budgeted for $90,000, said Parks and Recreation Director Theresa McArleton. She added that the park needed the update as quickly as possible because a piece of the slide had broken and officials felt a new setup was the route to go instead of fixing the slide.
