Train derailment in Town of Norris may take a few days to clear up

Pickens County Emergency Services said they are surveying the scene of a train derailment just outside the town of Norris. 
Official were alerted about the derailment at about 1:32 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a news release. 
The incident included about 13 railcars and happened on the Norfolk Southern Railroad  section of tracks next to Highway 93 East. No injuries have been reported and none of the railcars were carrying hazardous material. 
Pierce Womack, the deputy director of Pickens County Emergency Services, said only one house has been affected by the incident so far because of its location right behind the train but that they are working with the residents to make sure they have everything they need until the train can be moved.
