Radio London it's 3 minutes past 11. Radio 94.9 F.M. And on B.B.C. Sounds this is London this is B.B.C. Radio London for us elms Indeed it is I thought it was an absolutely charming listed on a fantastic mayor as well so that was I listed on the news of the day recover a smile use the mayor of his Linked In for a year. And coming up next hour for this often I would just talk about stuff and play some music show we then we're going to be joined by Louise rulz to grab the history of London and Jean then Dr Dan ridin is the founder of a company called fitness chains and basically you do one of those saliva tests to offer to get some genetic information and then they try and work out what sorts of kind of fit is what sort of regime sports a you're naturally quite good at I got no idea from Naturally any good cycling around on the on the not the world's fastest cyclist I'm a very aware of that. Bob was in pretty good shape at the weekend I thought I went out and did did a thing I did 7 laps on Saturday on Sunday so I was in more of a good fall but I'll find out with the genetically I should be playing darts in state and then we're going to be joining now then we're going to be hearing about your favorite song we don't often and then. Also it for 5 songs right now and then finally Richard is coming in which is strange that is from the doctors of madness but 1st up let's hear a bit of Johnny. And coyote. No regrets. We just come to 6 or 7 times Dan Simon. Journey Mitchell of course with the Great Lakes great said Jacko Pastorius on bikes one of the I just think that everything about the song is magnificent but the price playing is just heartbreakingly beautiful and if you want to know why Jacko Posterous was considered by many to be the best electric bass player of them all to listen closely to that right you're listening into the show number 2 very briefly about what I did at the weekend I always love to hear from you and what you did at the weekend so if you went to anything especially anything that we talked about how or anything that we kind of turned you on to I'm really really enjoyed getting feedback so if you went to any gigs or you went to any festivals or you went to any events because you heard about them on B.B.C. Radio London please share them with us and tell us what it was like good or bad although I always prefer good to bad personally. I want to say I did it they said it couldn't be done but I said on the show the other day that I was going to present my show on Saturday and I did live and in person in the studio and that I was going to make it to stoke to watch the game at 3 o'clock keep our way and start for the 1st game in a season and thank you very much despite you nice sales and it wasn't possible or suggestion I must have a helicopter hovering above or something no good all public transport. Basically a finish present in the show I must admit I did slip off at 5 to put the last track on a run made it to Euston Station Euston station within about 10 minutes because of a black cab so it wasn't only that which is one of the street jumped into a black cab of course got down and used them by about 5 past 17 minutes past one the train was at 120 so I had time to to even buy a Cornish pasty. Wait for Bobby was there waiting for me the 2 of us got on the China 120 from from Euston it was the 120 to Manchester stopping at Milton Keynes in Stoke I managed to resist the lure of getting off at Milton Keynes with I did look very dilemma US I have to say. And we arrived in Stoke at $246.00 which gave us 14 minutes to get to the station from the station to the ground rather. There were 2 other keeping our friends on the train because they missed the earlier trying because they were. So we shared a cab between us got to the ground I must admit I missed kick off by about 30 seconds I was running up the stairs as the as the game kicked off but I made it so every now and then you have to you know these things can be done they might involve a bit of planning and a bit of running even occasionally but we got there and not only that by a miracle when it can only be a miracle because it hadn't happened since 1936 or whatever Queens Park Rangers won an away game on the opening day of the season outside of London literally hadn't happened since the one in thirty's and we want to go to front that go by young Aborigine at sea and and it was a good day out was have to be said and then we got the China back and then I was back in town by 7 so you could get around I mean and actually because I booked it all really in advance was an expensive I've had a return train ticket was 25 quid and I've got my. Old people who's trying passed now a minister of the buy me tickets by get reduction so that all went it all went splendidly well much better than could possibly been anticipated no trains were late no trains were missed and the game was won so there you go that was a fantastic weekend and I'd love to hear what Nunes did you do did anyone do the 100 yesterday the cycling I was out I went yesterday what I did yesterday was I went to a bar I'm on the market on the Columbia Road we often do this on a Sunday and it's one of my favorite things to do. We went to Columbia Road and bought some some plants of a meal might call possible some other flowers from other people and we sort of stocked up for the garden and all of that kind of stuff. And then we went and this moved about a bit and bought a little bit not exactly furniture but we bought something in one of the 2nd hand shops around there my wife sports and she liked and we went and got that and then we went and had Vietnamese lunch I got via our is our chosen one on Kings the moat or whatever it's called up there in and so it was a really lovely London they are as well so we went to the flower market got some flowers and some plants when I went and did a little bit of mooching around kind of antique 2nd hand shop in did a bit of that then went and had a really good in a really good value after say Vietnamese lunch and then when I'm when I'm at a couple of beers with the lunch went on for the kip on the sofa while half watching the cricket it was perfect What more could you possibly more from life was a really really good London but why did the who is while we were out there are so lots of people returning from the London 100 because you can see all these people on road bikes with numbers on and I focus I felt similar tenuously quite glad I hadn't had to ride 100 miles at Di but I was there for a little bit jealous for those who had ridden 100 miles that I because it's a fantastic thing to do so if you did that. Absolutely. Posts. Let's. The blossoms or blossoms and your girlfriend get loads of e-mails about what people did over the weekend and stuff and things are being discussed discussing Angela say his. She says she was if i met me talking about that Joni Mitchell track from her Jarrett coyote she says is this the best plate based playing ever in a pop song you're such a boy about these things robot. Is that every boy's thing to say she goes on to say however you may well be right I would certainly agree that it's one of the most delicious Lee anticipated by scores in a pop song every time says Angela and you show you're not a boy after that coverage because I agree with it completely and utterly is one of the most delicious Lee anticipated by schools in a pop song ever I mean the only reason I said in a pop song and I'm not sure Joni Mitchell would really usually count as it was a pop musician is because there are other great bass codes in jazz songs on the street honestly but in pop music that might be the best OK Lots of people telling me what I did. Kath over on the Twitter page said my other half did did the London home during good time he had a great week all round famous He's a cute B.L. Fan as well much love to I.G.N. So let's talk now to Sabine and I believe her husband did the right is that right. Morning Rob Yes full time now for. Yes And every time to play for charity because. The meeting $18.24 now very very premature it will be a challenge he completed every time by proud of. Their work and accidents. Otherwise he completed the circuit. And painted functional as. Never to encourage you to get on a bike. I can ride a bike parked. No I had to but what wasn't right. On the bike really. And you said your house was that it's. Got a lot in between a belief that I could work that chipping away bridge. I mean if it does not face a lot it is like one joy in London talking about it what's the Berkut Melican like I know I couldn't do it. So. Well congratulations to him any idea how much money right. Not. Because I get and again I think of it like that he had a few people in the family. Hopefully you're. Giving giving giving him our congratulations on doing it for you. Collection that I covet was served to dancing occurred Oh how lovely Jandali are and dancing it was an intimate and completely delightful evening Tommy is 79 years old and in London working on some new songs with C.C. For the whole of August the the event will take place each Sunday evening Wow Maybe I'll do that next Sunday it was a very special night not make it any more Tommy Maclean's she says so that was what that's what Peter did she went to a swamp pop evening with the great Tommy McLean and Duran kings and danced with the family. Well so we got we've had. Sam said Sue sorry imbalance Green says my other half James and his mates from Southgate cycling club did a 100 I took it easy watching them whiz by from outside an Italian cafe in. By the way the other week we went to the farming Co Festo festival at Sadler's Wells inspired by your show followed by dinner at Moro perfect Oh that is perfect. Wow that is really that is a lovely thing at the Flamingo such as well as in literally around the corner tomorrow for some fantastic Spanish North African food can't think of a better way to spend the day I mean that. Bang on about it would tell on. That there's so many great things you can do in this some cost money some of the not too much some of them free but you could just go into books elect Simon the SIMON Oh my your did you just go well yeah I mean you have to get there early because they come freeway bridge you know from way which routes Well spot. It's like a flash in apparent basic of the book so you have to go on their own thoughts oh I'm so yeah so it's much more so in yeah you need to get there early and park up and have a little picnic and stuff but luckily there was no Ryan and stuff so did you make a diet Yes that I did you put yourself did you make a day of it plop and take a picnic and yeah I will pick up and go for a kid so I love to I want to shout so I want to scream as I post and the supposition you got to say the professional right is the elite light is going up when I select 3 1st and then there was about 36 seconds when it's in the mine lot but. You know I really carry just. So the event but they guy I'm pretty damn quick up the hill with Yeah but I thought I was 6 time so you get your money's worth so you know you're a when I am tired sorry exactly you get your money's worth and it's free so what more could you possibly want some sun went to watch the cycling on books which must have been fantastic actually but the cabbie would if he did I rub. Rub your I might yeah she has you thought well I'm in the camp to die so you know I've been given a look good Robin. In between in between. And between jobs been able to find I think experience well sort of the 1st time you've done it the 1st time I've done a ton of us both safes and you know big story to me have a copy night so I'll do a lot yesterday. Well as president it was fantastic All right money for the man should because probably knows ready recently been diagnosed with. Dementia I did it for the. Experience knowledge and he wanted to and I was quite lucky I managed to get out of. Unions Kona leaf which if you know kind of absolutely kicks up law I couldn't believe how much tougher the books Yes I mean talk till. You can actually do it in the you know you can actually spin your leg if you can please fill in wiring you're looking for another gear when you just run out. Believe me I'm going there is tough but books to take books are relatively gradually Dinamo given you can just spend well. Yeah let's go that no I can't pay lark as you know you mention your cell phone. So you may need it if you haven't done it before ready ready I just typed. In a ballot ballot the ballot runs up to the 6 paper focused ready Hello to you might stick to ready it because I tell you what I did it I did it 1st yeah yeah yeah it was great I loved what was your time. You can take a shower now 77 I was 20 but you can take a good hour now because we really got to speak for the hero I know what I said rambling has to come 1st and then you say you destroy the it's not a rice right it's going to be illegal I think you know you can run you really. Get if you want to use it you know they try to get. You know you can't you can't govern now you've got a site where every moment you come through London I thought this cat. The weight of the coldest sot. You know is different when you're on the bike you know you say let me elementz each part in only the iconic I see you know what might it makes you proud to be a Londoner because you can see a lot of people travelling ready No but. Ready It was very unlike Rob congratulations Yeah it is well to keep it up as well what a fantastic thing that you get if you pick up the paper moaning on the show on Saturday sending the most soon to closing all these roads so a few people can ride a bicycle come one day a year one day raise a loads of money for charity raises the profile of cycling and cycling as I said you know we can have this argument. Because I've had it so many times cycling is part of the solution it's part of the solution to almost any problem that you've got it's part of the solution to congestion it's part of the solution to pollution it's part of the solution to personal health it's part of the solution to collective health it's part of the solution to trying to get the price of the cost of the National Service down all of these things cycling is good for all of those and many many more as well mental health honestly I mean you know I cycle we've groups of mites and on the one many nights over the years I've been doing it I've had friends who've had mental health issues but not want to riding a bike they haven't. Because you can't and nor when you're writing about should be decent music or any of that sort of stuff you should be doing exactly what you said taking in the sea or write a before you feel in the air in the wind in your hair and on your face feeling the the effort in your thought is in your legs and you know whether you did a Hunt did the 100 miles or you did 9 in there was 19 was in there 45 just getting out on a bike. Put it on a day like that when the roads are closed and you're not you know younger any problems with traffic How fantastic is that and what a great great backdrop this city provides as well for part right so they got that so that's what happened this weekend I didn't do that it's what you know went to Stoke in state and watch the football match yet it was the 1st time Q.B. I would want to weigh on the only day of the season since one in 87 that was at West Ham but it was the 1st day since one in 38 that we'd won an away game on the open that a season outside of London Q.P.R. No choice really do not travel we'll outside of London we're not very good up north but we were on Saturday so that was fun I have to say I pour star than me if you're from Star this is not a criticism of anything ever called that place must have been bashed about it. I'm sure there's a there's a beautiful bit somewhere and whenever I see the potteries and all that on the telly it looks rather handsome but the bit we saw were anyway it's $1130.00 here on the wrong show on B.B.C. Radio London coming up in the next section we're going to be talking London and gin with our historian Louise rule but 1st up it's time for the news headlines here on B.B.C. Radio London Schofield. Radio London travel bill Sheldrake. Let's give you the latest on the Central time Victoria because this is looking absolutely snarled up now it's Buckingham Palace Road at the junction with Ecclestone streets there are some freeway temperature for lots of gas mains word they're going to be the shuttles until the 19th of August so of the next 3 weeks or so but from the Westminster direction checking this on the cameras I'm seeing delays for a long long stretch from Birdcage Walk on to Buckingham Palace for in the one way system and then as it leads onto a bridge road all the way to the Chelsea Embankment silat southbound over a long distance where you're moving very slowly and of course some of the surrounding It's also looking very slow simply bear that in mind if you head into Victoria Buckingham Palace followed is the biggie right now and then Regent Street same James is down to one lane northbound approaching Piccadilly Circus that's because of some gas works as well for delays back into power and all the approaches to Piccadilly
