I'm a coffee coffee all the way frou frou 80 percent time be instant get the percolator out from feeling in a good mood but you know you're no use to me on this segment so we'll see you in half an hour Ok not the 1st time someone said that to my face because I bring it up because there's a teapot that's going under the auctioneers hammer matter metaphorically in Norfolk later this week and it's set to go for more than a 1000 pounds what's so special about this porcelain blue and white teapot Well there are local links but to find out we'll be talking to gazes in this and Elizabeth told what's well known on t.v. Antiques programs she'll be coming on to tell us about the 1000 pound tea pot that could be later this week at the auction now though 8 minutes past 8 and we've got to tell you about the weather you are to drink or Elizabeth I think you probably are but you've got a company already here I haven't several of coffee as well yeah you don't feel that I don't favor one over the other but take a day out to get their political impartiality is all right so this is far and you know it's my preferred to say but what about what about the weather. Well it's been a cold start to that I think we're actually going to be getting mild I have the next couple days it's a bit you know you wouldn't think you know it today although it is a milder start than it has been we've also got some patches of mist and fog around as well it's kind of been overtopped by some lake cloud say for many of us it is quite a great start to the day but also some brightest spells around as well. Many of us will see some sunny spells of things we had through the morning and it should stay dry today it will turn quite windy I think by the end the afternoon a brisk south westerly wind setting up and their temperature is a bit milder than they have been say highs of 9 maybe even 10 degrees Celsius but staying dry today and who gets the saving that we got some wet weather seeping 3 from the West with this model the ethics good time wet windy and mild overnight but we could see temperatures rise for many places as we head through the night was start of the day tomorrow in double figures temperatures peaking smart around 30 maybe from 14 degrees Celsius but it will be blustery and the be some wet weather for much of the day of some bright spells through the often in over the weekend a drop in temperature again on Saturday some lovely spot the sunshine it should be dry for much of the day on Saturday with rain on Saturday night into the 1st part of Sunday morning then that rain clears away brightest bows on Sunday afternoon but it will turn very windy that bit of a mixed picture over the next few days as they Let's take a look at the Angel waters forecast for today the winds southwesterly 3 or 4 increasing 5 to 7 occasionally Gale 8 and later the sea states me the slight becomes light to moderate the weather regulator and the visibility will be good but occasionally poor Elizabeth it's Amy b.b.c. Radio weather Thank you Elizabeth Mathew Gudgeon b.b.c. Radio not for Cam it's a breakfast program on a Thursday just after 8 o'clock hope you're doing well with Smalling this time next week by the way you'll be able to count votes because polling day next Thursday the general election and which way are you going to go have you made your mind up perhaps you might have changed allegiance from how you voted in the past you may be feeling voter apathy none of the above either way you're not alone and we've been asking people in Norfolk in the Great Yarmouth constituency if they have decided to vote and how. Not going to vote at all because none of that going to do won't where you want We've always supported a particular party and there's no reason to change our minds now I think. We have a very supportive party I'm willing to listen to the people the party I'm following is definitely saying the right things in life to Lavan That's why I wanted to go so it's messing about so it's not really about bricks it for you and how will it affect things at this general election pricks it certainly has been in the headlines for many years now but now or in a general election campaign other things come into view as well let's speak to Catherine Bond who is a professor of e.u. Law at Cambridge University and Catherine is on the line to us now good morning good morning to you so I mean for real point of you watching all the campaigning has it been bricks it bricks it bricks it no it doesn't and it's been billed as a election and of course the parties who have headline positions on projects that you're not hearing is any detail about BRICs it not least it was an earth bricks it will mean after the 31st of January. So does that affect most then is it going to be Boris Johnson he's pitched it stented by moving slightly off the the agenda or want to be some of the opposition parties where you might think the opposition might benefit because of course once the discussion moves of the train of bricks it it moves on to things that people care about affect their daily lives so education's goals health hospitals and so tends to favor the Labor Party but of course as we know there's very keen to it attract the leaves constituencies as traditionally voted Labor and so he might be able to say actually getting all spread talking about the n.h.s. And the claim that there will be 50. You know this might be attractive to those constituencies on Brecht though it's a high wire act isn't it for Jeremy Colvin and a senior Labor colleagues because when you look into their policy on breaks it involves Now another referendum doesn't it and and a deal but will be put in that referendum which none of us know exactly what it will be well it's interesting because if you look at the labor manifesto it has quite a lot of detail about what the Labor Party would like about the relationship with Europe it talks about close alignment to the single market and some sort of stake in some sort of customs union but what the labor manifested doesn't seem to distinguish is the divorce from the future relationship and all that the e.u. Will talk about at the moment is the divorce where is what Jeremy called me wants to talk about is the divorce and the future relationship all wrapped up in one and he says he will we renegotiate the reason Maple is Johnson text and wrap up some of the future stuff in it he will get that done in a couple of months and then he'll go to the country with a referendum and all of that will be done and dusted and 6 months I'm afraid it was for the simple reason that it takes a minimum of probably $22.00 but probably $26.00 weeks to have a referendum so that's already the 6 months go on. To try and renegotiate. It's very problematic Mr Coburn I was looking to do it Harold Wilson is made by staying neutral in any vote that's what he says he will rise above it that's what Harold Wilson did 40 years ago 30 Melissa virus firings going off. We know it's not Harold Wilson It might be Jeremy Corbin or Boris Johnson giving a coal about this. Possibly not but yes that's what he says he's going to stay you caucus important to stay neutral because. He will therefore reflect the whole range of a whole range of views but get Bracks it done is the coal. Well from Boris Johnson and the conservatives that's the mantra and surely that will cut through because after all 3 years ago this country did vote to leave Europe. In the coup to consent to this you heard that in your piece. Just before I came on air that people said up to you and they think they were bricks don't I'm afraid there's a new set of them to its bricks it will not be done on the 31st of January. Because all that will be done on the 31st January assuming we leave on the 31st of January is that that's the divorce we need to be talking about the future relationship and the next 11 months will be spent talking about the future relationship it will be wall to wall bricks it took joy right let's get the general election over with 1st and then we'll see the law of the land Professor Barnard always nice to speak to thank you very much. Catherine Barnard who's with the University of Cambridge a professor in law. It's $818.00 and here's a heartwarming story a 7 year old girl from a stair room was so moved by the plight of the homeless children that she saw on the streets when visiting France recently she decided to take action nearer to home Charlotte Hozier told her parents she wanted to make homemade lunches and distribute them to people living on the streets of knowledge well we can go to Wally Webb who is there live now at the family home in Durham Wally over to you. Thank you Matthew we are indeed. Listen and we'll hear all about this year's efforts after Charlotte you have told me what you did last year because you did something last year didn't you yes. I think it got some so-so like. Lego Star for just a list people like me. And I gave out I can this Steve Hayes and. Toothbrush at. Her because she would talk you went to a dentist and they gave you a load of toothpaste that was very nice and you went and gave those out on the street. But then we lost money about her trip because she's been to from Salisbury Yeah yeah. Yeah we went to the Christmas market and Leo a couple of weeks ago and we were quite shocked to see quite a lot of homeless people with babies and children so we decided when we came back we get picked up Charlotte from her sleep over and we told her about our trip and we mentioned that being homeless with young children and babies and she was quite shocked and said that she'd had enough of all of the homelessness and she wanted to do something about it just right you want to fix it you know what you've been doing this year than. I have been like make him pack lunches but I miss give him a sound like a chocolate bar Apple it's crystal clear Well we'll find out how you've been giving your job after we've found out that you went to a supermarket and you and that if you got any food. What did they say they said I'll just go get fast and they just go and ship it for us and asked us what we wanted it to and then we told yes and he just went around and did a lot of free shop. And then you may be making these food parcel yeah now I know it was when was it was it last weekend that you gave them out when you did you yeah and you just walked around the. The city streets looking for homeless people how can you tell they're homeless because like if you know much things and they normally sit by how is. The way yeah. And you have you're little bag of food that you've made. And you just go to them what you say to them and they said here's a packet engineer at you and he killed them. You have to like it and then and they drink it just drink it and what did they say to you. That. When he even said that i asked me if I wanted it to keep it I like keep it that was very nice of you and. What do you say it was 7 yeah she's a really really proud of that because she is always kind of this before herself and thinking of really kind things to say and I'm I don't people asked us you know what With that said to us when we handed them out because I think people are a bit worried about getting things out how it will be received but in all honesty everyone was so grateful and you know I really friendly and I think some of them just wanted a a chat with us so it was you know a really really good sort of wonderful thing to do Christmas you even wanted to give a real pocket money didn't think so you didn't have time on it and I suppose now you're going to be thinking what we can do next. Well don't you Well well thank you thank you very much. What a lovely story and what a lovely person Charlotte thank you Wally Wiley web. Household this morning in Durham and yes 77 year old Charlotte is why she's a forward thinker isn't she for someone so young. It's 22 minutes past 8 thank you for joining us around the breakfast table this morning on radio Norfolk Matthew Gudgeon standing in for cry. Score him who will make a glorious return tomorrow although listening to him describe the football last night things coming back like the rest of the knowledge fans with tails between legs but yet crisp tomorrow morning here though we got plenty more of the breakfast program the small inning we've got a and election debate after 9 o'clock focusing in on one of the Norfolk constituencies and the most marginal of the mole is to be found in the city of knowledge knowledge North has been helped by the conservatives now since 2009 Chloe Smith the most recent amp a she standing again but expecting a tough battle from labor who in the shape of being Gibson held the seat before her last election 2017 there were only 500 votes in it and we'll have all the candidates talking to us on the program in NORAD's north sort of microcosm of the election battle really talking about the issues and you with your questions as well after 9 here on Radio Norfolk breakfast. A little pot for tea potted by the sea as good as new it's actually a late 18th century rare and from father and now for sale in this all the way from Lowestoft a gem not to be missed so impressive is this porcelain teapot it's inspired a Norfolk auctioneer to poetry Elizabeth Tolbert of gazes in days has been describing the Lowestoft decorated blue and white teapot as part of $700.00 lots coming up in their Christmas sale this week the teapot once sat in South key museum in Great Yarmouth and could fetch as much as a 1000 pounds or more at tomorrow's sale well without any further ado and I wonder if it's running rhyming couplets should be speaking to us in Elizabeth told what's good morning good morning good morning good morning actually that the muse upon you they're going to say they comes occasionally I mean by by such a lovely lovely gem that's the thing so it's mind whirring So this is Lowestoft pottery which I think means that it was decorated in stuff was in it or no actually 1st of all it's porcelain and secondly it was most money such a decorated low start low start has a magickal little period in it it's a wonderful history between about 757 and 8 you know so anyway it actually competed very violently against all the big. Money factions throughout the rest of Great Britain who were producing fine quality porcelain and this is one high example of what they could do is it unusual to come across such a good example it's only yield to sign such an early piece which is so experimental that the shape is very very complicated in terms of being a rigid molded body of a little so-called teapot it's unusual to be a teapot it was either a few tea pots made and say cheap bulbs and source or teacup. And sources you don't have one to put it in the tea service but that's what the other amazing thing is it's in such extraordinarily good condition you have to blink and look twice to think it's sort of 250 years old or so and just looks as though it was made yesterday it's lovely it looks a lovely thing from the photographs and the pattern is quite classic suggest that there is painting painted patterns on it is that yes it sent a glaze blue I mean most of last of course little white was under glaze blue for the 1st 2 years of its production and really it's caused a little delicate neck chain of floral decoration around around the rim of the neck and then the lid on the body has just got very delicate Seanie we've so floral tendrils very much like garlands really which just decorate loosely around around the body it's very very pretty but a very very Georgian very understated high English Georgian delicacy and there are collectors for porcelain and more particularly inspire a subset Cypress I suppose particularly Lowestoft porcelain there is a sort of very. High blown maybe quite a small collection but nevertheless a collection of people who will want to be it for this most desolate we've had a lot of interest I mean I'm the auctioneer he maintains the I don't know the whole the hard work to do all the the the auctioning for the amulet of course didn't sell which takes place last often every October and that's been going on for many years and what's very interesting what I'm delighted about is that most of the collectors with real passion are still low staff and local Veyron people who've grown up with it through their generations of family and they're determined to keep it very local and within the last oft interest there are lots of categories so some people make that just to us and people make a cut just blue might some people may collect certain Designs and Patents So even within the sphere there are lots of avenues to to pursue and Trace it's lovely and this was once a museum piece was nettled I think in more recent times it has been a. Private Collection it has what I what I haven't managed to establish from from the current vendor who's inherited it from from parents is how it is reached from the museum in the almost in the mid 20th century through its private hands it could have been the best family he started loaned it to the museum it could that cou
