Well we're joined from Caracas by our correspondent Will Grant Hello Will Hi wrote hi as any sort of a crowd estimates for that rally Well as always when you're in the thick of those crowds it's very very hard to get a proper handle on it but it was only in the thousands I mean it was held at the height of carnival sorry so ready to get anybody out it was actually kind of a phase but it was interesting because he was met at the airport by a large number of people his motorcade was greeted by national Of course there is a huge number of people in that that square so yeah it was I think was a pretty good turn and I think a lot of people were simply showing their support because they didn't know that he was actually going to be able to make it in and once word got through that he was going to be actually on a strike coming into the country at the time a lot of people went to the airport to make sure they did actually make it into this way and this wasn't the original plan was that he was supposed to be coming across the border by law. Well nobody really had a proper handle on exactly on exactly what the plan was and you know those are those are the 2 theories one with that he would just come across by land or kind of make his way into Venezuela and then just appear at this rally and the other was what he ended up doing which is sort of facing off the authorities just walking through immigration I can he body else returning to their country and I think the 2nd one the one that he chose to do is probably the P.R. Victory if you like it certainly shows him as you know not worried about this threat of. Arrest and it makes him Mr Maduro President Maduro look look a lot weaker so you know that's clearly why they opted for that that choice I think but if we go back 10 days or so he had a different scenario in mind didn't he had said convoy and was very much hoping that somehow they said convoy with him involved would would actually make it all the way to Caracas. Well it's really really hard to say and Graham was making an amazing point and as such a summary but as he said the high rank officials definitely with mother were they have very much to lose just by giving away power not let's not forget and most of this huge names instead of the military are either sanctioned or X. Hughes by the United States that's been involved in several crimes basically in traffic and so this and the isolation of the international community has made it very difficult that the state huge names high ranking officials are pushed by the order to. Not to seize power but I think we should look be beyond that I think we should look inside of the troops how are the troops handling this and the fact that nearly 700 soldiers soldiers police cars the border both borders between a in Brazil and Colombia and recognize one way they'll even though it's not a huge number it is a significant number because it represents I think it's about 20 or 25 percent of the troops there were sent to both borders so I think we're not looking on the right direction I think we're not looking at the troops which are the ones who are suffering the crisis who are really on the really understand the humanitarian crisis and who are the basic ones who want the humanitarian aid and a change in the government for the we should really be looking at the people that the shark the people who have to do this so what about Mr Grey those backing I mean is go back in from so many Latin American governments always has got backing from the United States government and come about. Well in the United States the House Judiciary Committee which is no controlled by the Democratic Party in the U.S. Congress has passed 81 government agencies and people and other organizations to submit documents in connection with its investigation into allegations of obstruction of justice and the other irregularities might involve President Trump among those included in the request the president sons Donald Jr and Eric Anderson law judge crucial I were joined from Washington by White House correspondent Tom a Calvary Hello Tara Hello Well this is of course what we were expecting I suppose that the Democrats to begin and investigations on a variety of fronts. What are the we just said that they're looking into obstruction of justice what would be the groans to claim that the president had obstructed justice well and a lot of ways the investigation that's being done now by these congressional Democrats is similar to the one that Robert Mueller of the special counsel is doing is. Going to say something not at all I'm not really listening hard so I thought oh it's fine and they are you know trying to get information or evidence that might show that the president has you know because he's been accused of obstruction of justice so they're looking at that and they're also looking at corruption charges but the requirements for the congressional Democrats are different they want to find out as much as they can about what the president has done but they're not trying to try him in a criminal court the way special counsel would be doing so at this point time the congressional Democrats are just trying to get as much information as they can and then they will try to tell a larger story about what they see as possible abuse of power. and it is that this it clear what these documents are auras it just of they're asking for documents that that might cover of a diety of heads well the head of the judiciary committee gerald nowther has talked about what he believes he might find in terms of obstruction of justice or abuses of power he's spoken about it in general terms he hasn't been all that specific about what they're looking for with these particular dark documents but there's been the request for so many of them like you said they're asking for things from people who are working at the white house than at the justice department and just a cost the government and then business associates and as you mention family members so it's i it's a big net that they've thrown out there on the should we really any surprise here should though that this is what the democrats or was said they wanted to do that's right they've been now and they've been in power and the house of representatives for a about 2 months and they set out to investigate and that's certainly part of their mandate and my 3rd doing one of the questions as how aggressive should they be in this some of the more progressive democrats say that they they want to impeach the president and some of the more centrist democrats are concerned about making sure that they're taken care of your constituencies and not getting too caught up on these investigations and plus at the democrats know that they need to have the support of republicans an order for to proceed with any impeachment and at this point time they definite don't have a support of the republicans what did jerrold nadler say when when i asked about impeachment rather it was a possibility he's not spoken about it specifically he ass hasn't ruled that out either he knows it he needs to both tend to the needs of his of his leftward you know the leftward wing of the democratic party because it's what some of them want but are the same time he's not sure that there's enough evidence or that there's enough material are what they'll find or whether the investigation itself as isn't the best interest of democrats so when the when they get all this material as or evidence that the or coordinating with a some a her with the special counsel with robert moog Since they have different goals seem to be operating on different tracks as they should be they have they have their own agenda the Democrats do they want to get to the bottom of it they want to get the facts but they're not prosecuting in the same way it's a political approach in some ways and a sense that it's not going to be a court of law it's more the court of public opinion in a lot of ways but at the same time they want these documents they want the facts in front of them so they can determine which way they should go what if they don't get them they haven't a power to inforce.
