Must accept hard facts including that Britain won't have as much access to some market citizens as it does now she suggested that the u.k. May be willing to pay to remain part of some of the e.u. Agencies but she rejected the idea that she was seeking to cherry pick the best bits and it's Forsyth reports the reason they said it was time for pragmatic and common sense approach to BRICs it respecting the result of the referendum by taking back control of the U.K.'s borders laws and money but maintaining a close relationship with the e.u. She said to keep trade smooth across the Irish border the u.k. Would maintain similar regulator e standards to the e.u. But she had knowledge that in leaving the single market in customs union things would change but I want to be straight with people because the reality is that we all need to face up to some hard facts we're leaving the Single Market life is going to be different in certain ways our access to each other's markets will be less than it is now there were some compromises a softening havior the future role of the European courts and continued payment for access to some European agencies Mrs may want to no one would get everything they want. Firstly a British North man has been sentenced to 10 and a half years for raping a woman in Telfer town park 25 years ago Mark Hemmings who's 58 and from Tansley close was identified when his d.n.a. Was added to the national database after an incident last year when he stabbed a police dog the rape took place in February $993.00 Maggie Gordon who was $36.00 at the time was walking from her home in Maryland slowly through Telford town park having subjected her to a violent attack raping her at knife point police investigated at the time but no one was caught Maggie Gordon has since sadly died her son John Gordon says the attack had a profound impact on her and their family completely ruined her life it was a cliff edge she went from being this happy person. That's loved life to the full she was a great mom and from pretty much that day on within a year things completely turned around you know family sensually didn't fall apart it became this jointed became a family that just couldn't cope with the enormity of what happened and so huge impact huge impact and we never recovered and so it's such a shame that 25 years mom's not here to see that he's been caught but he has and that's just is in the end it was John Gordon So why did it take 25 years to find the man responsible Detective Constable Nicole from West Mercia Police explained is d.n.a. Was taken after he stabbed a police dog and that was that d.n.a. That was matched to the crime scene d.n.a. That was taken 25 years ago excellent work by officers 25 years ago meant that we always had our offenders d.n.a. Held on record for this particular offense that was logged on the national database and it was just waiting to be matched with the offender d.c. Hall also says it serves as a warning to other offenders who think they've got away with crimes we will never stop looking we will never stop trying to investigate West Mercia Police are committed to investigating these sort of offenses and bringing these offenders to justice this one took 25 years sorry that we couldn't actually do it when Maggie was alive but we did find the offender he has been prosecuted and I just hope that that is able to bring some closure for her family Mrs Golden son John says this case brings up a question about a national d.n.a. Database I'm really glad that he's been caught thanks to the police and their brilliant work it just shouts Wow way using d.n.a. Evidence all the time why don't we get d.n.a. Like we give n.h.s. Number or Nash and sure and you have nothing to fear nothing to her. Right if you are not a criminal just a short time ago Mark Hemmings was sentenced to 10 and a half years in prison John says it will never be enough they spend living his life normally for 25 years so easy for him to be locked up 25 years ago his sentence will never be enough to rate private she lost it's good it's been cold but I don't have enough ice John Gordon bridge with my mark hemming sentenced to 10 and a half years for rape committed in Telford town park 25 years ago it's why shop she comes to find out the latest join him and stay up today to be your county leaving c b s Raphael. Staff get to work through the snow the 1st Battalion the Royal Irish Regiment based at turn hill near Market Drayton are using 4 by 4 vehicles to transport emergency medical staff to hospitals across the region the defense secretary and south Staffordshire m.p. Gavin Williamson has met some of the soldiers and he has also been talking to b.b.c. Reporter Anna Thomas what we've been having is a lot of local authorities getting in touch with whether that Shropshire or whether it's Hampshire Welsh borders open Scotland and actually asking for a bit of help from the armed forces and well being saying here is for Royal Irish Regiment going out making sure critical people who are needed for our health service are able to get to the hospitals and we're able to deliver important services to the local population so a lot of it is something like a nurse who needs to gain for their shift and is stranded in the snow is that kind of thing isn't it very much so but it's the services actually when people turn up in an emergency they're expecting and need to be available and the army have been out there making sure that those people get to the places in need try to be proud of work they're doing it 24 hours thing they've been out into the evening and really grateful for work making sure that people get to work safely and the services that we need are there for them and for many members of the public this might be the 1st time I've met somebody in uniform it is not often that many of the public would have interaction with the armed forces you're absolutely right but our armed forces are always there always ready to support and it really goes to show how important they are it's not just about serving and operating overseas is actually making sure that things at home always run right and when there's times when we have this dreadful weather that we've had in terms of their snow fall they're just ready to serve and ready to help the defense secretary Gavin Williamson paying tribute to the 1st Battalion the. Well Irish Regiment based at helm in market trikes and for their efforts to keep running through the snow house we join in and in them thanking them how can we pay homage to them I don't know more I've got it I know where they are on a very emotional day on Tuesday the 12th of April 20th and when the regiment returned from a 6 month tour of duty in Afghanistan here they are marching over the English bridge to a special service at the Abbey interest. First Battalion the Royal Irish Regiment based at turn held their market drought in the big freeze is expected to continue into the weekend with more snow showers and windy conditions forecast usual weather forecast coming up for you in just a few minutes time just make sure we keep listening to b.b.c. Radio throughout the weekend we are here and you know whether it's travel what's on what's off anything like that you know where we are now this is something that's been very important this week in Libya sequals been telling you her story of becoming a mum now physically she tried to hold the books to prepare she'd read a tiny bit about postnatal depression but knew nothing about postpartum psychosis but ended up having it with both children it was undiagnosed and very dangerous. What if one of those visions had told me to harm myself or the Book of heaven forbid you know I. It's it's just so dangerous that we're going to practically fully physically that you know but for the Leap Pad What happens was physically but not given the right information about what could happen to us in their minds and then if it does happen how to get the right help because as he said it's incredibly dangerous it ruins lives pace I depression postpartum psychosis takes over your life and it destroys families and it needs to be spoken about more and you know these things do happen but there is a y. And there is how yes and knowing about it in a bones means that you're looking for the warning signs so that so that you can pick them up or they exactly and you're not just yourself but your partner I can remember reading baby like segments of baby books out to my husband saying what he's what's going to happen when I'm not I mean you know 9 months pregnant and what happens is going to happen when she's 3 months old or but not once did I have anything how to get mentally prepared but it was in the book I've gone this is you know one in 5 women are diagnosed replace my depression after having a baby hey this is what it is and these are the warning signs and all I've heard about postpartum psychosis is what happens to women and I did read all the site to him we just bought a spoken about it with my friends because it was just been a talking point so what happened to you at that point we just carried on. Our carry on take my tablets we carried on with all the stuff I was doing to try and get myself Well again again because he thought it was just another side effect of pay stated the pressure and and kind of looking back now I just well I want somebody quite almost to kind of shake me and Guy you know who this isn't because that right and you are suffering with this really you know dangerous illness that you have you didn't get the help that you need now I did and that make you cross very cross yet it makes me very cross especially when I went back to my home going back to my doctor when we were thinking about having a 2nd baby because I've been. You know that feeling well and I said to the possibility of trying for the baby who had always wanted more children and I'd always felt like the illness at that point in style and enough of allies and hypes in dreams that it wasn't going to stay on my chance of having any more children very defiant to that point about it that I might talk to Tehran and if they don't know having to buy they should have and you should be for height Now I obviously now I 5 years down the line and lot more experience of the illness and the symptoms and the help that sight that I know that if you've had it once you're predisposed to getting it 2nd time so that was just incredibly angry at that and to feel cheated you know I spent a lot of time feeling cheated and 1st righted and angry that I had gone through this and the moment I'd lost my daughter by my daughter that I wanted to put an end to that negativity and decent think positively there and to use my experiences to at least help the moms out there who might be goi
