Close touch Welcome back this is across the line My name is gemma Bradley on let's kick off with the bast song in the words. Live in the where. They have brought and. I saw them a few years ago. In the air. That's right this is across the line My name is John the Bradley and we are live on b.b.c. Radio all star on b.b.c. . We saw and. You just heard our best song in the world that was bitch Balkan went down brass. Tax me on it won 771 I want to know what you thought of the track. Tweet me out across a lot of the mixture degrees the high side hash tag dedicated. Still to come we have an exclusive track from Stephen McCauley. Music from the murder capital. And we're going to be talking about our Real Talk podcast The topic this week was balmy on relationships. More music from swimming tears. And of course we have our word exclusives 3 tracks never before played on the radio actually in Thompson is and tells all about dot. But now we have the fabulous tabby racks in session. Go from tell us tell us are very happy hip hop but also not happy about I guess we have a new album out called The young the old as about I guess the journey of being a musician and how it can give you a world sense of egos I think you know a friend of mine a session and he's like he's a drunk now and he was like this child the way child Bernier off and he was like you know the closest thing to being God in like 2019 is to be famous I think that's like a real troop thing like celebrity because like is really the closest thing to being a guy you'd like to be course like you have a following that's religious you know I'm saying we're kind of way so he said that's really unhealthy but also very true if they want to come explore that what a god complex does to musician and what that means for both the people around them and for themselves and that's where we got a. Black. What you mean. We're going to do more shows we have a headline show next week and last name we don't do more shows like outside of Dublin may even come up here and doing this is like going to be when Derry in November we're going to do some international shows and be active like no no more of this music for a minute. On the album for maybe 13 months you know so I think it's like do music do bigger shows and names out there and do a whole festival run that's outside of just like you know Irish presses I want to festivals like Germany and like Scotland then I go all over the guy like so I think that's what we're hoping for just kind of use the album to level up where we are in terms of our career. In session tonight we're going to play Lo c. There's I never got the bus and like a super mystery cover. Inspirations at the minute obviously loves a bra count and love still offer a so doing great stuff and who is also class right now so many cars people like in self. Can I really don't know I love me love the low so great has a kid and I have hip hop and Ireland mangos great. All the bad guys Evan does drop in the islands walk right kneecap everybody not the singers and guitar guys screw them everyone else every rock guy great. 1 falls on social media Twitter or most I think there would be talking a lot of garbage nonsense and I just heavy t. e b I or yes and then on Instagram a t.v. Rights official Facebook Facebook is that thing. That's right to be racks or live in session Hello Guys what's your. Is 5 people in studio right now so I'm just going to go out even if I want to want to just introduce everybody that's here because now everyone is a Mike Absolutely I'll take you on as about am on the ones and twos in the decks we read that or 3 d. Over here big man like I'm taking up most of the room we have on bars we've got a you heard from him myself on vocal on the piano behind me we've got Rory Rorik of the good stuff and then we have local boy beside us Hello everyone you may. Say goodbye to the dinosaur. You may know from our most recent track of the album which Well I know about the most yes so. Hi hi is everybody today. Yankee so much for coming up by no means traveled a while high with a journey because Belton Yeah we were very late so it was like a squeaking I was going for my car so the radio was on. As long as the radio is on but is that when I think a so you're going to perform some tracks for us tonight what's the 1st track you perform for me we're going to kick it off with I never got off the bus. So what is it a boy like Larry Klee comes up was it's actually it's a it's kind of a messy counts of a kind of a. Different takes on because this is 3 different verses on a yeah you go boys and they have what are different types of love processes I think a part no people don't get is the heads of 2 Childish Gambino at the end of the power where he never gets off the bus and I was kind of well for form the shape of the song and you actually went through with it and I do you kind of get the shakes with that yeah. It's funny because sometimes I think we'll break up when things and use vacant and in a bad way with the lines is just it just is and I think the song is very much about that where it's bad experience or necessarily a good one is something you experience in sin and sin in that feeling those songs kind of about nice like. You know so Ok you can watch t.v. Rex live on b.b.c. And I live search for b.b.c. Don't cut it k. Forward slash and I lived this is Tabby racks live in session what I never got off the bus. 1st what's known as the flight way you can it's my business supplies to my I sit next to my psych you get this toy down my life and says the last Pope Francis was. Listening to that point seeing all the good points when the mass of the mind to smile. And sometimes. Someone. Sometimes curse. The. is to bring to our blood. That is me brains they bring me down they bring me down. Occurrence to be stuck in this town's took in this town I know the church. Is for the best with tears of past I'm now of the left I'm never the I've thought out. My. Come. Home. I record her. Good night sleep. A little mistrust too many cats in my kitchen I'm going back to work I'm done didn't mention I'm done I'm watching me on what you wanna see. Get myself imagine him I replied Just lie on my side and not pain in my eyes you might have come too soon. Or I might just be on time. That was tabby racks with I never got off the bus live in session on across the line that was so hard not to sing along to. Use the backing vocals and this is going to find you were thrown some ships there local but it was a shame I miss. You that's good when you can dance here like. Tabby rocks How did you start like how did you start tell me all about I thought like what would it want to just go I want to I want to start in the center like exactly how it went down pretty much and you know we didn't really really like friends I don't know into that well but we were aware of each of their friends on Facebook status on Facebook it was like hey I'm going to make a band make it up music kind of like any or d. Childish Gambino Kate Nash this kind of stuff and I like I really like those influences I cannot can I be in the band hit like a bunch of people I want to be in the vision people know your passion on their utilities like there's a lot of people there better than you know no one sounds like you know I was like Ok if you don't take. Him I guess after me and I'm not Michael. Never been able to so I'm assuming you guys are Man Oh yeah we can actually get this going is it father kind of performing diving into our friends like was a weird start yeah like he finds me really intense and 1st I am really intense and . So 1st of the same like this guy is real because I was into this I feel like from the start I thought we could really we can really do something with it and I think you start off in like this to be fun to be fun to do isn't like little Gates was like 12 year marketing plan his schedule is I don't have any songs yet you know so it took on the kind of like actually this is this is it is this is really fun and they have kind of become and made to perform together I actually couldn't imagine what to be like Kai gone up by the top of the bus and do this solo Yeah I want to be great like I remember if that was you hypothetically invited me. It would be one you. Yeah definitely I suppose like cushions are made like that that's kind of support system in a way like when you're performing live students get nervous before Gates or is it better to have somebody there it's better I think I think it's like games are good thing but even for me it's like releases it's like if this really is flops and we both laugh as half and half Yeah but if it's like this or is this really well we made some really really nice together so it's going to help you mix and you share and as well because I think you know like I always be forgetting lines live so like either Matt or how are we going to back me up and I finish it off for me so like is that kind of group thing where you want that support system there yeah yeah I know you talked a boy it's releases guys just put out an all for. Gang Gang Yeah so why did you come up with the concept for the young. That was actually coined by this man over here who might be artsy thing this guy's the arty boy the group 9 yeah no I do think like a friend of mine said essentially the closest thing to to be God in 2019 or 20000 when he said this was to be famous which is funny because it's so true where like. If you're famous you have that kind of influence that doesn't really go away like if you have money your influence is based on money but fame is like dogmatic religious thing where people are like oh you strange lady look to be I say where I will find out where you live and I will somehow ruin your life and that's like. It's so weird because it's like a sense you become a deity to people which I think in many ways is nice that people want to support you but also super unhealthy for whether it be your mental health or your perception or so I think the album's talking about falls a journey of these people who start off I think really like Nascar is really kind of like idealistic and by the end of it they become kind of a shell of what they were at the start Yeah and again here's an opportunity to tell a very nice story that we broke up into 3 different acts because the big reason for that was that we wanted a very cohesive sounding album but we make lots of different sounds every song. Quite different sounds like it's kind of touching out different John as I was going to say that because obviously like you say we talked in different genres How do you approach that when you go to write a song I don't I don't know what someone's going to go in with the idea of like let's make a song The Has this kind of aspect to it you know sometimes it just flows differently depending like we got to the producers on the album in the room. When we did it with red is the final song and they are. Like a nice kind of happy scene the sound who we should we just created in his in his studio in a bedroom when that was a Whereas with Jake we had a much more thank you put it with Jake and yeah it was a much more structured idea of what this is going to sound like yeah I think it's make the music we feel like making know it's like and we also we also go off ideas a lot we're like oh this will be quite the do a whole cause we're cool concept and then we build a song around that we're not like I listening like got like a kind of the rap song has me like a hard and you know growing sting was kind of what we feel like at the time yeah you know that's what I think's really great about being a song on an artist you have the creative license do what you want yeah do what you like you know and if people love which we do you hear it across the way I mean you know. So you've another track for us tonight what is it call those either nice do you want to tell me a bit about it as well oh yeah no I was told this is about I think people feeling stuck in people being stuck in like one place and kind of enjoying that complacency and I think it's all about like then your negative habits kind of run your life and young realizes from your life into the ground until it's too late. That's what I think that's it yeah nice very very serious Ok Ok. We will switch to seriously like a job of it I don't really want to be. Spinning the chariot I've been expecting. I love it though so this is Tabby Rax live on across the line with Lotus Eaters. If you miss smoking polies in the back of our garage. Lip Is the Woodburn song which is with Rob. Thank you Stephen for giving me this trot I haven't heard this truck in a while you know what it's. This is across the line. That's right this is across the line My name is gemma probably again I'm excited to tell you about our brand new podcast it is called real tall we are on week 2 and this week the topic that we focus almost on relationships. I have Russian in the studio with me a mock from tabby rats in the studio with me what's up guys ha is it going good. Yet again we love hearing we loved your sash and so we did. Too if you're going. So basically our podcast a kind of follows the structure each week we are talking about the issues that some musicians on kind of everyone faces every day going behind the music and like I said family and relationships was won. This week so we were talking about that and I just want to know you know do your relationships and family life get sacrifice sometimes because of your music when you're working away so hard at it. Not for me is more to don't think that my family of found something really really fun to support and get behind with music they're like really really into that when I was a mom and dad the 1st question is what happened to be reckless the updates was the next 3 months happening like they were listening like all the time constantly Oh it's a lot that's got me I got to my brother just had a baby in the last year and I don't get to see her as my God like make sure I plan to stay here as opposed to just like having a free day to go see or want to fill up your free time which you can being productive and being credible. Yeah I guess I know my job faces I can vices I mean . There's a social life non-slip is cool is acting Yeah well that's that's really nice actually because I know some people do find it hard sometimes the balance thought I know myself sometimes I have to sacrifice family time like I've only got daughter I haven't seen or like I haven't seen or wakes there but I only got to see them on Friday and I was like oh I feel really Bob I've just been work and I've been working on my music but it's really nice that your families are really supportive like that you know that your life can be chill as well our side of it it's very cool you know it's like even my mum currently live with my girlfriend video Molly for a little shaky. Basic like the pics this song of like he had to basically break off for the governor from years ago she left him because he was too involved in music all right Ok She was then she like it's not going to be. Like no I know that he might successful. But if you have a good team and you have managers and stuff I think that yeah it's a burden off a lot so I mean like I know a lot our managers I do you delegate tell me the same thing like 16 times I think I'm busy I don't I don't I don't listen I don't know what's happening with doing something and if you see today Ok Good stuff good stuff well we'll be there if we can thank you. Yeah I know that that's great. I know and like I said family relationships are really important and it's great that you know you can balance out if you at home have these issues as well you know trying to balance the family life . Relationships please taxes on it won 7 savable won or tweet us out across the line and make sure to use the hostile dedicated because we want to hear from you and we want to know your thoughts on this be
