Demand and as our suppliers to provide more internets other news to reason may will set out her vision for Britain's trading relationship with the European Union today in a major speech she'll say she wants the deepest and broadest possible trade agreement but she's expected to sound a note of frankness as Laura Coons bug explain. I don't think that we any move towards the demands about staying in the Customs Union I think she will rule that out explicitly again there won't also as I understand it be any new detail of how the u.k. Might want to deal with the situation of the Irish border so I don't think this will be a speech this sort of responding to the news high purse peed cycle of the last 24 hours or so I think it's going to be a bigger longer more considered sort of next step the man police as a 14 year old boy has been charged with the murder of a 17 year old boy anything London the victim named as Lord promised Nick and was found with stab wounds on the 14th of February Prince William's to become the 1st senior member of the royal family to make an official visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories will make the trip during the summer and thank you very much more for regarding this through the news tonight on what has been an extremely busy night and well before we go on to tonight's weather forecast for the weather for the West Country a need to bring you up to speed with all of the travel information I have just in case you are on the move of sorts on the highways and byways tonight there's a lot that we have to tell you so please bear with us 1st of all let me start with the news that the m 5 in the Bristol area southbound we're told that 2 lanes are being closed between junctions 19 for Portishead and 20 for Cleveland this is due to a vehicle having left the carriage way that's ongoing at the moment the recovery for the m 5 in Somerset northbound we're told all lanes now open following the broken down vehicle problem earlier on on the opposite side of the carriageway pretty much in a similar place as for the m 5 southbound we're told that the exit slip road is being closed due to snow junction 23 that's the turn off for the a 39 bridge water north away from the motorways we are told that the a roads there are one or 2 problems you need to know about tonight 1st of all the a 30 in Somerset Melbourne port. We are told the that is currently blocks Jews were broken down lorry that's between the street and ash end it's impassable at the moment due to the snow and a number of stranded vehicles the a 3 o 3 at ill minster is closed in both directions due to snow that's between the South fields around the outer till Minster and the pottery turning and we are told by police that despite what you may have read on social media police report that the road remains closed due to heavy snow and stranded fear cause other ones to tell you about the a 361 doll ting in Somerset that's closed in both directions due to snow and a broken down lorry there that's between farm road indorsing and the a 37 junction to the Charlton cross roads in ship to Mallett several lorries have been stranded in the snow there in addition we're told something new that's literally just come in on the m 5 northbound we're told that there's another incident of an accident on the section between junction $21.00 for Weston super Mare and junction $24.00 cleaved and no further details at the moment but that is a new one in northbound carriageway of the m 5 accident between 21 for Weston super Mare and 20 for cleaved And we've also got news that things appear to be moving again in the Bristol area if you're on the m 4 eastbound to those between junction 19 and junction 18 for Bath there was an earlier accident at Junction 18 or just before it as a result that is now starting to improve simply to be patient and in addition to that the Bristol ring road the a 4174 warmly We're told there's been an accident there earlier this evening between the a 420 that's the deanery road roundabout and tower lane and Axl Rose aside from all of that I should just point out to you that if you are indeed or were indeed contemplating travel by air it goes without saying really given the weather conditions that in the event you were shuttled to be flying tomorrow it is a. Stream the unlikely that services will be underway effort all during the 1st part of the day or indeed all of it so the recommendation as always is please to contact your local airport or the airport your departure airport to get further information we are told Incidentally as far as rail services are concerned there is a little bit of an improvement on Great Western Railway in that we've been told that services have returned to normal between Bristol Temple Meads and 7 beach following the earlier weather conditions so there is a little bit of good news in there so a lot of information to give you tonight thank you for your patience I know that for people who are listening to the program you may feel like you're hearing the same bit of information over and over and over again but it is really really important that we get that information out there to people who may be encountering this for the very 1st time anyway that's as up to speed with your travel that's brought us to 7 minutes past midnight. She sent me a. Your Late Show weather forecast for will share Well overnight tonight a very cold night ahead with the prospect of heavy snowfall across most parts at times strong south easterly winds will lead to the drifting of snow and blizzards minimum temperature of minus 2 degrees Celsius that's $28.00 degrees Fahrenheit As for Friday further Xtend snowfall is anticipated throughout much of the day although winds will gradually ease conditions are likely to begin to improve across the south and west very late in the day the maximum temperature is going to be minus 3 degrees Celsius that's 27 degrees Fahrenheit so your outlook across will cheer for the weekend ahead well a spell of rain sleet and Hill snow is likely on Saturday this clearing during the evening to leave Saturday nights largely dry but cloudy. Someday you will have sunny spells and showers these perhaps a little wintry among should be mainly draw it with some brighter spells and just the chance of a shower that you forecast on b.b.c. Will. Begin in 6. Fleetwood mac Alex is now making his way back home for what has been an extremely busy evening here on The Late Show and thank you very much indeed for. What you have played in all of this so I'll come to the next bit of that in just. 2nd But yes just to say it's rather a rather a strange thing I mean it's not unusual for me to be the last one in the building by any stretch of the imagination you know doing a show like this it's to be expected but the weird thing the way I think about it tonight is it's been absolutely hate being all day long now with people because of the weather conditions so many people have been trying to make sure that we get all the information out there for you and people have been incredibly busy and doing some incredible work and so many of gong to their bed hold themselves back to drag themselves back in for a breakfast show which is going to get under way earlier in the morning than you are usual usually going to here so just to bring you up to speed with this in case you didn't mesh midsts or you didn't miss what I said earlier to get it right by Rahm wanted to tell you that breakfast show in the morning depending where you are starts earlier so in Bristol Emma on air from 6 in the morning with your brain for show in Gloucestershire Mark will be on the air from 5 in the morning maybe I should give him a call before I go to bed to see if he's appear at Downing ala Persia and then you never know and then in Somerset Claire will be on air from 6 in the morning and then as you if you live in them Ben will be on air from 6 in the morning as well so essentially 6 or earlier in last year Mark's going to be on air from 5 so all the details of everything you need to know and as a affects you and hopefully hopefully will get through the night without any more incidents of loss of power and the likes and you know so I think so far we've been remarkably lucky with that sort stuff that we've had you know on the program tonight so anyway we'll keep our fingers crossed for a smooth passage or maybe actually a bit of a thaw tomorrow would not be a bad thing to help us all but anyway we shall see. So then where do we get to next oh yes I know where we go to next one of these things which sort of go round to right about half past 10 and you know it sort of just whips around and here we are again. This is where we refer to our little musical challenge which we gave you earlier tonight it was called or is called topical tune now the idea behind our topical tunes if you've not heard it before is we give you a story from the day's news and it's not necessarily something you may have been familiar with because it often appears in your printed versions of the papers the following day so later on today as it will be but in this particular case it might mean something that you actually saw on television which then the papers picked up and wrote about terrific story the idea is that you listen to the story and then you come up with 3 brilliant suggestions for hours of songs we could play you have to have a connection in either the title of the song or the artist's name for it to qualify to be added into the final draw where in the end we go through all of the suggestions we've had and then we pick 3 which we like to then play and we've got the most diverse 3 tracks I think imaginable votes and let me share with you the story that we gave you were wrong and that is that it's the old thing of live television can bring some rather strange experiences sometimes anything can and probably will happen today Julian Joseph the Sky Television News presenter was out and about on location as were many of their experiences experienced reporters who were in areas affected by the weather now Gillian was in the historic city of York and well she was wrapped up for the arctic blast but somewhat I'm prepared for the lady who she invited to come over and speak to her she'd been looking for people to chant to and nobody but nobody appeared to be walking around except this woman who appeared called Christy and she came over to the camera and immediately told the present all you nice it has nice in real life as you do on the tele. And then she explained when asked where she was going when everybody has been told to stay at home because she was heading into work at York University Well Christine then concluded the interview by sharing that she loved one of the other presenters and Stephen Dixon to whom she referred. She said them Julia revealed it was his birthday and that's where Christine seized her big moment looking into the camera strange to camera lens she said. The statement is gorgeous is absolutely gorgeous Poppy birthday Steve and I'll be watching you on Saturday morning Stephen evidently saw it because he later posted a message of thanks for the birthday wishes on his Twitter account but said thanks especially to Christy. Stanchions and b.b.c. Will check. So we were looking for songs suggestions which matched up with go for a absolute belters something to be sure and gently and then a lovely sort of. Well a nice little song to match the weather conditions we have. And then something to remind you to stay awake for this program when we do a feature like that you can never predict what's going to come up that's for sure and you know if. Absolutely Frank a bounty there won't be many radio shows that you would listen to which would play you Madonna crazy if you followed by Engelbert Humperdinck and when to world of love and then Susie in the Banshees Crist. You know if you if you actually said to anybody your program music or radio station or heard a radio station prior the history songs together you're now are they will turn around and say you have lost your mind it simply didn't happen but anyway you see that's the wonderful thing is down to you and it's down to whatever you choose and great suggestions I hope you enjoyed them and thank you very much indeed for your contributions not only to the topical Tunes top 3 but to all the things we've been doing tonight it's been an exceedingly busy night here on The Late Show now coming up in a moment so let me see I got the Bangles I've also got Al Green I've got news of your breakfast show to come in a moment 1st though one of the by products of the weather is where this leaves us and those who decide to that in the morning they might just go in search of something to do now the important thing to mention is in the morning and less conditions improve dramatically overnight and it really doesn't look very likely I have to tell you it is unlikely you're going to be finding anything other than locked doors this side of the weekend a number of businesses across the whole of the west country have decided just to stay warm and so maybe you could do the same in tucked up with the radio until the beast and his partner Emma have blown over but it is worth pointing out that a number of attractions across the west country would be keen to be open but unfortunately And please don't shout at me health and safety laws mean they have to provide a safe environment for you and if the weather conditions prevent this that will stop them from opening so you know don't just feel if you think that the weather's seems that you know significantly improved in the morning don't think that you that's necessarily going to give you a safe passage out to bear that in mind let's also not forget that many events and family attractions are closed until Saturday. At the latest bearing in mind that they do have to also get their own staff to open up where possible and if of course they're stuck because of the snow then they're not going to be going anywhere in a hurry and therefore the attractions weren't open so just to remind you the police forces across the west are advising people to stay at home and many of the region's visitors favorites like cars will form part for example a close for the time being so if you're hoping to pop in to see the little lambs you're going to have to wait until it warms up a bit I'm afraid now got some important information I want to share with you that are just spotted that's coming in now because all of the journalists are pretty much off duty as far as we're concerned for tonight this information is coming from p.a. News I've just been informed on the a 3 o 3 at ill Minster the incident which I've been referring to earlier tonight although we've not had any had any calls about this I've now just discovered that police have said they are carrying out a rescue operation to help people stranded in their vehicles across Somerset including about 100 vehicles stuck in snow on the a 3 o 3 at ill Minster now I'm reading a quote here I presume one of the police officers although I have no further information as to who exactly this gentleman is all I know is his name is Mr Wiley says the operation is being supported by a number of volunteers from voluntary agencies including Avon and Somerset search and rescue Ex more search and rescue Burnham area boat they have 4 by 4 vehicles and west 64 by 4 response along with other emergency services and Her Majesty's Coast Guard now the important message to give you because there is the possibility we will have people listening to us who are in that series of 100 vehicles stuck in the snow on the a 3 o 3 at ill Minster the message we've been asked to pass on is if you are stranded please stay in your vehicle call for assistance and wait for help. Arrive do not under any circumstances abandon your vehicle as it can hamper the efforts of emergency services well make sure that if you are with is on this very frequency and you are one of those people if you can likely to be in your vehicle overnight which could happen to bear in mind we'll be on early with the breakfast show in the morning and more of that come in a few moments time but I sincerely hope that it won't be too long before everybody's on their way again or at least in a position to get to a safe house for the night just after 1230 I remember then feature where we look back on this day in history a little bit late I'm afraid but not the way the world has we got so much to get through tonight here on the light show where would you throw in to want to fall Have you seen those new gadgets where you ask a question and it tells you dance. Funny thing is the b.b.c. Here on the. Whole night just after 1 o'clock now you barely need me to tell you that the breakfast show this Friday morning here on b.b.c. Will share with Ben Price is going to be all about the snow and its impact on the county we'll have reporters bringing as news from across the whole of and will bring you up to speed with how it's likely to affect you if you were planning anything either this Friday or in the coming days so full details whether travel with an early breakfast. From 6 in the morning. But. and pleased to be able to say looks like the West Country is getting a bit of a breather from the snowfall at the moment there appears to have been a bit of a break in the storm not quite sure whether this is a temporary thing which is happening at the moment or whether or not there's likely to be a bit more to it but certainly as we look to the south of Gloucester in too will share across the eastern parts of Wilshere at the moment it is beginning to clear a little bit there are some clearer spots in the south of the county around solve sprit Trowbridge it appears like it stop snowing for the moment Swindon appears to have improved as well as siren Sest election laid Fairford North leech paints week now appear to be it appears like it may have cleared again for the time being as I say there is an awful lot of snow around the country at the moment and it looks like it's now working its way slightly further north with the worst of the storms now over. Here is that it's difficult to tell on
