Anti government protests are again taking place in the armenian capital, yerevan, amid anger over azerbaijans defeat this week of Ethnic Armenian separatists in the enclave of nagorno karabakh. For a third day, Opposition Groups are calling for the resignation of the Prime Minister. The latest protests come after the two sides held peace talks yesterday. Our correspondent in the region, rayhan demytrie, is following developments from neighbouring georgia she gave me this update. Well, so far it appears that the ceasefire is holding, although earlier today we heard a statement from azerbaijans president ial adviser who said that azerbaijan was preparing to offer an amnesty for Karabakh Armenian Fighters who agree to lay down their arms. That announcement came, according to azerbaijan, amidst reports that some military units, karabakh, Armenian Military units, have refused to lay down their arms and they pledged to continue their resistance to Azerbaijani Forces. The humanitarian situation is really critical and difficult in the regional capital, stepanakert. Thousands of people who were displaced by these conflict since Azerbaijani Forces took control of some of those villages close to the front line. So those people spent the night in schools, churches, very little food. Although today, azerbaijan says that it sent several trucks with humanitarian aid, mainly food supplies, and ran every day. This week weve seen these protests taking place in yerevan. Some of them have got a little bit violent. We saw some Stun Grenades earlier in the week and definitely scuffles. Theres a lot of anger there. Can you explain to us why there is that level of anger, what the protests are about . Well, the protests in yerevan are mainly kind of to you know, people are really angry at the Prime Minister, nikol pashinyan, for handling this crisis. Theyre demanding his resignation. Theyre demanding to open up a humanitarian corridor for Karabakh Armenians so that those who want to flee can come to armenia. We were getting mixed messages, actually, from the armenian authorities. So yesterday the armenian Prime Minister said that he didnt see any threat to the security of Karabakh Armenians. But nevertheless, armenia was prepared to receive up to 40,000 refugees. He said that places were already ready. Going back to the protests in yerevan, that anger is also aimed at russia. A lot of people in armenia feel that russia had betrayed them, that karabakh is lost. And this is an extremely painful issue for many armenians because they consider it their historic homeland. Russell brand is facing a series of Sexual Assault allegations, including rape and emotional abuse. The latest is said to have happened in this building in los angeles in 2008, where the broadcaster was recording an episode of his radio 2 programme. A woman, who the bbc is calling 0livia, claims brand exposed himself to her in this bathroom. Brand then laughed about the alleged incident minutes later on his show with his co host, matt morgan. What made the bbc think that was appropriate to go out like that . Ijust dont understand why they didnt investigate this much sooner, given the raunchy, outrageous bits. In a statement, the bbc said. Russell brands co presenter at the time, matt morgan, has also issued a statement. He says. Its the Russell Brand show and heres your host, i am. The latest claims follow an investigation by The Sunday Times and channel 4s dispatches programme, in which four women allege they were sexually assaulted by Russell Brand between 2006 and 2013. He has denied those claims but has not responded to this latest allegation. Graham satchell, bbc news. Police investigating the death of ten year old sara sharif release new pictures of her. She was found dead at her home in woking last month. Detectives are hoping the images will bring new information about her and her family. A smiling sara sharif, seen here in a picture much more recent than those we had seen before. Surrey police have released the image and a School Photograph in the hope more people will come forward with information about her and her family. Both pictures show her wearing a headscarf, as she usually did in the last few months before her death. The ten year old was found dead six weeks ago at her family home in woking. She was found to have what prosecutors called a constellation of injuries which police said were multiple and extensive. Her uncle, faisal malik, Herfather Urfan Sharif and her stepmother Beinash Batool appeared via video link at the old bailey on tuesday charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child. The three left the country for pakistan the day before sara was sent dead. The three left the country for pakistan the day before sara was found dead. They flew back last wednesday but without saras five siblings, who are currently in care of the pakistani government. They were arrested on friday and face trial next september. Detectives say the investigation into the death of sara is very active and they are keen to hear from anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant, which would help piece together a picture of saras life. They say members of the public have already helped but they would like more people to come forward, and they hope the two new pictures showing sara in a headscarf will help to jog peoples memories. Daniel sandford, bbc news. Police have found a large quantity of fentanyl and other drugs hidden under a trapdoor in a nursery in the bronx in new york. These photos show bags filled with enough drugs to kill half a million people. Police had been tipped off about the stash after one year old Nicholas Dominici died of a suspected Drug Overdose last friday at the nursery. Three other children were admitted to hospital after being exposed to the powerful drug. The nursery s owner and her tenant have been charged with running a drug operation resulting in death and face lifetime in prison. We allege that the defendants poisoned four babies, and killed one of them, because they were running a drug operation from a daycare centre. A daycare centre. A place where children should be kept safe, not surrounded by a drug that could kill them in an instant. When Law Enforcement officers searched the daycare, they found a large quantity of fentanyl, and machinery used to press and package narcotics for distribution. In particular they found a brick of fentanyl, about one kilogram in weight, right on top of childrens playmats in the daycare s closet. The story is still very much in the headlines in the us. Cbs news correspondent jared hill brought me up to date from new york. Something people could not really imagine happening here. A one year old dying in a day care because there was fentanyl being keptin because there was fentanyl being kept in the facility. Weve heard there is another Court Date Set up for the two people in custody so far but police are also still looking for a third person here, the husband of this Daycare Owner and there are some questions at least according to Law Enforcement around whether she had been helping him to escape after all of this happened. Remember, what youre learning here according to the new York Police Department is when this all happened that she apparently made three phone calls, two of them were to her husband and then one was 2911, to the Law Enforcement, to get them to in and check on the children who are unresponsive. 0ne check on the children who are unresponsive. One was to 911. Police are questioning whether she helped him to escape at one point because there was apparently evidence that he went into the Daycare Facility before one enforcement got there and then left with double bags full of something, what that is they do not know and well that he went they also do not know. And where he went they also do not know. Around the world and across the uk. This is bbc news. Lets look at some other stories making news. Scientists and star gazers will have their eyes on the skies above the us state of utah this weekend. A capsule containing rocks and dust from an asteroid is due to plummet from space at more than 15 times the speed of a rifle bullet. It took four years to reach the asteroid and collect the samples, which could give vital clues about the formation of our planet, more than four billion years ago. 0ur Science EditorRebecca Morelle has the details. With its boulder strewn terrain, it tops nasas list of space rocks that pose a danger to our planet. But it could also shed light on our very beginnings. So nasa decided to get up close and personal with it. After a two year journey captured on camera, this was the moment the 0siris Rex Spacecraft collected a sample in a smash and grab that lasted just five seconds. These bits of bennu were safely stowed in a capsule, and now theyre heading back to earth. Were looking at material that existed before our planet did, before the origin of life. In fact, some of it may have been from even before the solar system formed. So were looking at the beginning of our story. How did our solar system form, how did asteroids come together . And did asteroids like bennu literally make the earth a habitable world . For the landing site, theyve chosen a vast wilderness. After travelling for billions of miles through space, the capsule is going to land somewhere over here in the utah desert. Scientists think theres about 250 grams of rock and dust inside. It doesnt sound like much. Just a handful or so. But every single grain of this is precious. And scientists will study it to reveal the story of our solar system. The return wont be easy. The capsule will speed through the earths atmosphere at more than 27,000 mph, experiencing temperatures of 3,000 degrees, before descending down to the ground slowed by parachutes. Beeping. The nasa team has been practising in the desert, working out the best way to recover the craft after it comes down. The most important thing is to keep the extraterrestrial material inside free from contamination. Of course, we study meteorites here on earth and theres a lot we can learn from those meteorites. But they have gone through earths atmosphere and potentially had some contamination from earth. Of course, we study meteorites here on earth and theres a lot we can learn from those meteorites. But they have gone through earths atmosphere and potentially had some contamination from earth. So thats why we need a pristine sample from an asteroid. Bennus already thrown up some surprises its not a solid rock, its a loosely held together pile of rubble. And some surprising people have also been involved in the mission along the way. Sir brian may helped the team to choose the best place to take a sample, by Making Stereoscopic 3d images of bennu. I think originally 30 different sites were selected as possibilities, but some were rejected because the boulders were too big, some were rejected because it was actually too small to navigate into. Some because the materials you were going to get werent going to be nice enough. Interesting. And the material that we were able to supply, i think, just enabled them to tip the balance to actually make those final decisions. All eyes are now on this patch of utah desert, ready for the landing. The hope is this mission could answer that most profound question where did we come from . Rebecca morrelle, bbc news, utah. Its two weeks have passed since a Powerful Earthquake Hit Morocco killing more than two thousand people, and causing widespread damage. Officials say they are doing all they can to help and have promised to rebuild Fifty Thousand homes. But many families are set to spend the winter in tents and for the children, whose schools were destroyed, the situation is becoming increasingly traumatic. 0ur correspondent sally nabil visited one of the worst affected areas in the high Atlas Mountains to see how people there are trying to cope. This is one of many sprawling makeshift camps in the high Atlas Mountains, where many families are left to struggle more than a week after moroccos deadly earthquake. This girl takes me to have a look at her wrecked school. She is still haunted by memories of the day the quake hit. Translation my father hugged me and i kept reciting prayers. The ground was severely shaking. Today, i sometimes wake up in panic and say the earthquake will hit us. Not much is left here, only remnants of a once bustling school. Translation i miss my school so much. L i miss my teachers. I asked her if she wants to go back for education or to see her friends. For both, she says. Many children in this camp have similar dreams. They have brief moments ofjoy, but they hide deep grief, anger and possibly trauma. Malaak tells me she wants to get out of here. Translation i dont feel comfortable. I want a house. Its too tight here. Im suffocating. As we walk around, we could see nothing but destruction. The earthquake killed 3,000 people at least and ruined many more lives. This place was once a classroom. Children used to study here. Now there is nothing but cracked walls. Many students in the affected areas will find it really difficult to go back to school, notjust because many classes like these have collapsed, but the traumas these children have gone through as a result of the earthquake will need a lot of time and effort to be treated. Volunteers have stepped in to help. In this small tent kids vent their feelings through drawing and writing. Many of them have been orphaned by the earthquake. Translation we asked them to express themselves. They drew demolished houses and dead animals. At first, they were too traumatized to talk to us. It took them a couple of days to open up. As we were leaving, we spotted this small mobile funfair. A local ngo is moving it from one camp to another, trying to cheer the children up. They are having a good time at the moment, but for life to go back to normal they will definitely need much more. Lets ta ke lets take you back to bordeaux where we are watching the magor of bordeaux standing next to the ambassador for france and then you can see the king and queen consort. 0n the stage in the centre of the stage in bordeaux. More on that throughout the day. Do stay with us. Hello. Friday has turned into a sunshine and showers day, with a noticeably cool feel. Tonight is going to be a rather chilly one, but through the weekend it will turn warmer. Wind and rain arriving for many and the main driver of the weather over the weekend will be this swirl of cloud, which you can see on our earlier satellite picture. This is ex hurricane nigel. Its going to feed into this deep area of low pressure. Thats going to bring some pretty heavy rain across northern and western parts, some brisk winds, but with the winds coming up from the south temperatures will start to climb. For the time being, though, winds are coming down from the north, so thats why it feels quite cool out there. A mix of sunny spells and showers, although generally quite a lot of cloud across scotland this afternoon. Temperatures north to south 12 to 18 degrees. Through this evening and tonight, most of the showers will fade. We could just see this Band Of Cloud And Showery Rain Grazing the east coast, but elsewhere, under those clear skies, we will see a few mist and fog patches and it will turn into really quite a chilly night. Many spots down into single digits. It could well get down below freezing in parts of the highlands. That means, though, quite a lot of sunshine to start tomorrow morning, but we will see more high clouds streaming in from the west turning that Sunshine Hazy and then thicker cloud getting into northern ireland, west wales, the south west of england, with some rain later in the afternoon. The winds starting to pick up. Temperatures between 12 and 18 Degrees North to south. During saturday night, we will see this frontal system moving its way in. Its going to become very slow moving across the western side of the uk, so that means some quite heavy bursts of rain as we head through the day on sunday. Further south and east, actually parts of east anglia and the South East Of England likely to stay largely dry with some sunshine. With those southerly winds starting to develop, it will start to feel just a little bit warmer. However, those winds will really be strengthening, particularly around coasts and hills. In the west, we could see wind gusts of 50mph to 60mph and some very heavy rain through sunday evening, perhaps most especially across the western side of scotland, where there could be enough rain for some localised flooding and travel disruption. As we head into next week, it does look decidedly unsettled. Showers or longer spells of rain at times and it will often be pretty windy.
