whether he had abandoned his post or whether he'd gotten -- fallen behind while on patrol. according to what you know there was no patrol at night, correct? >> there was no patrol that night, and the problem, i think, that a lot of veterans of the unit have with the story that was presented originally is that anybody who knows anything about being in an infantry unit would understand that to say that we let this guy lag behind and no one acknowledged he was missing and they were able to snatch him up makes this unit sound like garbage. when the truth is he was on guard duty. a guy relieved him. when it was his turn to basically rest, he just vanished. and next morning when they did roll call, they couldn't find him and realize this guy sneaked out. >> can you explain how big of an operations, what happened to other ongoing operations. this was obviously a very tense
