The entire side of this building has collapsed into one of these narrow streets. The authorities have evacuated most of the tourists from this area. Their concern is if there are any more tremors more of this will occur. Many of the buildings are badly damaged and they have catastrophic cracks. You can see particularly left of the shot, you can see how with a minor tremor all of this can come tumbling down. There have been tremors elsewhere in the country and it is the tremors and aftershocks that continue to pose severe problems for authorities. If the roads were not closed originally by the earthquake they are being close by subsequent treasures. The buildings that remain standing are likely to come down. Tens of thousands of people have been made homeless by this. People have to sleep out in the open. There have been some miraculous rescues. Yesterday a woman was pulled out from under the rubble after being trapped for 12 hours. The authorities are having to use helicopters to get to some of these remote villages in the atlas mountains. The area has been badly hit with entire villages reduced to rubble. The death toll is now just over 2000 people. At least 13 in marrakesh but 2000 and the rest of the country and likely to rise as the authorities pick through the rubble and discover whether or not the people that are missing are now actually dead. That brings me to my next question, this is a huge operation for the government to organize all of the aid. What are you learning about efforts to make sure not just marrakesh gets back on its feet but crucially, these regions, they get everything they need. Apart from the rescues they need to food and water. A lot of people still need medical attention. They do. There is now a National Mobilization to cope with that. There have been offers from all Around The World. Even the ukrainians have said they will send in crews. What kind of equipment will it take . We have seen the video, of these towns. You can tell the roads have been wiped out. In terms of getting any kind of important equipment of their, it would be difficult. What can organizations like yours do . At the minute the majority of their organizations Around The World are monitoring the situation closely. Offering assistance if required. The moroccan government have organize all of the resources and they are working extremely hard to reach these places. Other organizations will be able to support with supplies. They might be using high spec Listening Equipment to listen for the trapped casualties or cameras to look into voids. I want to talk a little bit more about that. In some cases it is concrete and in other cases it is old stone. I imagine specialist can be brought on the scene. How complicated is it because you do not want the structure to collapse completely. Absolutely not. Each structure tends to collapse in a different way. We have Structural Engineers as part of the team. We will be able to assist how the building has collapsed. If necessary we can use timber and other mechanical props to find the best way to access the rest of the building and reach any trapped victims. This is painstaking work. I am interested in terms of how far we have come in trying to do any of this. You talked about listening devices. Has all of that tech come a long way . Is a canine unit the best thing in these situations . You are right, the technology has improved massively. All the time they are progressing with potential new devices. It is a combination.
