That is the day before he disclosed to members of congress that there was an issue with the clinton investigation that may have been found with these huma abedin emails. However, the team that was investigating the weiner investigation, conducting the weiner investigation, learned of this much earlier. The first week of the month, when they first learned that there were some emails from huma abedin that were contained on Anthony Weiners computer. That set off a cascade of events inside the fbi, as they tried to figure out exactly how many emails they were talking about, what type of emails they are. There was a lot of Technical Work that was done, including looking at the met data to see whether or not the emails went through the clinton email server. That became clear by midmonth that there was an issue here. Were told that the officials of the fbi decided it was not yet time to seek a search warrant because they needed to know more. They need to figure out exactly what they were dealing with here. Thats why we now have this letter going from director of the fbi, james comey, on friday, just 11 days before the election. Poppy . He is set to speak at a rally in colorado in a little bit. Well see if he does talk about these new revelations and what he says. Poppy, i certainly think it changes the contours of this campaign. It certainly has given the Trump Campaign an opportunity to be on offense. When is the last time theyve been on offense for a few days in a row . We havent seen that for several weeks from donald trump. Theyre used to playing defense, whether it is allegations of misconduct on the part of the republican nominee or if it is just something he said at a rally that reverberates or at a debate that reverberates for several days. Theyre not caught up in that news cycle and that can only benefit him. Just as the polls are moving in his direction. That is why youre hearing donald trump sound like somebody who is winning the race, though the polls show he has catching up to do in key swing states. Donald trump earlier today was thanking Anthony Weiner because of these new emails that the fbi is looking at that are connected to the Anthony Weiner sexting case. Donald trump, who said all sorts of things about Anthony Weiner throughout the course of this campaign, was thanking him earlier today. Heres what he said to say. I have a feeling theyve just found a lot of them, dont you think . I have a feeling. Huma. They just found a lot of them. We never thought we were going to say thank you to Anthony Weiner. And you can hear the cheers at that rally in las vegas, poppy. That goes to show you how j jubilant the crowds have been since the news came out on friday. Its changed the narrative upside down when it comes to the fbi. Youll recall earlier this year, i mean, at almost every rally, donald trump would go after the fbi and question why the fbi in their view let Hillary Clinton off the hook. Now, they are coming to the fbis defense, you know, hearing the Clinton Campaign go after the fbi. Go after the fbi director and ask why this is being brought up now. Youre seeing kellyanne to conway, other top Trump Campaign officials comes to the fbis defense. Goes to show you, until this race is over, things can get turned upside down and right side up over and over again as the days tick down, poppy. It is not over till its over. Keep in mind, even if donald trump wins all of the states that mitt romney won in 2012, hes still well short of the 270 electoral votes he needs. He needs to flip blue states. Thats why hes in colorado and going to new mexico later. Who would have thought donald trump would campaign in new mexico. Then off to michigan, where they feel there are a lot of those Donald Trump Style voters, people who have been caught in the wheels of, you know, this changing u. S. Economy. People who perhaps lost jobs ten years ago, were not able to get the kind of jobs they had in a factory in years past. They think michigan is chockfull of those kinds of voters. Thats why, poppy, it might not make a lot of sense for them to get out of the swing states they desperately need to win. They need to flip states if they want to get to 270. The fact weve learned from evan perez that it looks like the fbi sat on the news that they had many more, thousands more emails. It could be relevant or maybe not. We dont know. For weeks and then came out in a letter to congress 11 days before the election. Both camps said we want all the emails. We want the details. I think the news that there are potentially 650,0650,000 emails those are all the emails, not just the huma and clinton ones. I just read it on the wall street journal before coming on board. This is a huge number. The articles said there could be upwards of thousands from huma abedin on this. Here is what this gets to. This is a continued pattern of drip, drip, drip, news of the clintons. Just more questionable activity behind the scenes that we dont know. Supposedly, huma abedin handed everything over to Law Enforcement. Shed signed under oath, saying shed given over all confidential information and devices. How the heck did they not find the computer until now . I dont know. I dont work at the fbi. But it raises everything back up again. The 66 million for clinton inc. That we found out a few days ago, with the operation. Its this drip, drip, drip of these questionable things coming forward that really have to make people wonder, what would a Clinton White house even look like . Lets talk more about the emails. First of all, i want to play for you what your candidate, donald trump, said about them. He said, you know, theyre akin to watergate. Lets play that. This is bigger than watergate. This is bigger than watergate, in my opinion. James comey said in his letter, as i know youve read, to congress, we dont know how significant they are. Mike pence went on fox this morning with chris wallace, and he said this. Listen to this. So shouldnt you and mr. Trump be cautious in talking about how significant this is . Well, i think we have been cautious. Hes saying were being cautious. Your candidate is saying, this is watergate. Which is it . If he thinks it is like watergate, where does he have evidence to back it up . I think what theyre saying is the same thing. Its not the same thing. It is. Jason, its not. You heard it. We want to see justice served, see the investigation completed. Needs to be done very soon. They need to get through it. Obviously, when you find out there is upwards of 650,000 emails they have to go through, this is again, this is mind boggling, that they didnt have this information before. Look, you already have in this investigation five different people who have taken the fifth amendme amendment. Theres a lot of questionable activity. I want to get to my question. Your candidate says that this is he said. This is a quote, it is bigger than watergate. What evidence does he have to back that up . Well, it is big. This is an entire this whole system is setting up an outside server where accouconfidential classified, topsecret information was going through. The rerouting of materials outside of the norm. Is it bigger than watergate . Watergate took a president down. All we know so far is comey thought it was careless but not enough to bring charges. As weve seen, i believe when the entire investigation is completed and everything is brought together, i think well see mr. Trump is right. This is bigger than any of us realize right now. All right. Lets move on to the final nine days here. I really want to understand your strategy because we just talked about some of it. Colorado, new mexico, michigan. Hes down seven in michigan. Down eight in colorado. Yes, hes doing better overall in the polling. Hes going to struggle in colorado with suburban women and latinos. New mexico, youve got a huge latino population. Michigan hasnt gone for a republican since 88. Walk me through the thinking here. Absolutely. Two things i want to point out. Number one is the great numbers were seeing early with early voting and absentees. In florida, were 100,000 votes ahead of the pace of where the campaign was these states. I also want to point out in north carolina, were 35,000 votes ahead of the pace. In iowa, over 17,000 votes ahead of the pace when you look at the difference of republicans turning out higher and democrats turning out lower. Nevada, were the same as we were four year ago. Heres what we saw last week. With the news about the obamacare premiums, which mr. Trump has been talks about replacing obamacare, effectively since the beginning of the campaign. Hes been very adamant. Clear difference between the candidates on this issue. That came out. In arizona, 116 increase. Pennsylvania, 53 . Specifically, why yes. Youre getting aggressive on states that lean blue. Last week, things have been moving so fast and quick. Weve seen a number of the states that are traditionally blue or purple, the numbers are closing quick. In new mexico, our polling shows the race is a dead heat. Michigan, we showed as a dead heat. Some of the polls you put up earlier, further back, dont incorporate the most recent news. Were seeing fast movement. Thats why we have mr. Trump in new mexico today. Thats why hell be in michigan tomorrow. Well be in pennsylvania and wisconsin on tuesday. Things are moving quick. Were looking very good in those states. Is again, secretary clinton bumps up 42 . Shes polling higher than you guys. I want to move on to money. You have nine days to go. Mr. Trump said to dana bash, hed spend 100 million or more of his own money. He wired the campaign 10 million on friday. That puts him 30 million off of the 100 million mark. Will he put 100 million in . As of october 20th, she had 62 million. He had 16 million. That matters. Mr. Trump did just put in another 10 million. That brings his contribution up to a heck of a lot so far. Ill leave it to mr. Trump for exactly how much he puts into the campaign. What i do know is he made a commitment, that well have the resources we need to win the race. Thats why were looking to expand ad buys and adding more ads to the rotation. Well have what we need to win this race. One of the struggles and why you have been behind on money is not because he is not rich, it is because hes had a hard time closing the deal with big money, traditional republican gop donors. The issue is, donald trump constantly says, i am the best deal maker on the planet, the art of the deal. Why hasnt he been able to close this deal and get the traditional, big money gop the donors, more of them on board . Id point to the successes. Weve teamed up with the rnc to fully fund the victory programs and make sure we have money coming in. Chairman priebus has done a fantastic job, working with him and the rnc campaign. Well have the money we need to win the race. And well have the money to expand. As we go to the new mexicos and michigans and pennsylvanias and wisconsins, different blue states where Hillary Clinton is struggli struggling. Theres not the enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton but there is for trump. Were seeing a movement with tens of thousands of people showing up. We see them. I know. Let me get to one group that you guys want to get more of. Youre not going to win africanamerican voters as a whole but you want more than youve had in polling. We do. Hooereres what Donald Trumpd about Hillary Clinton being a racist and a bigot recently. Play that. Hillary clinton is a bigot. Who sees people of color only as votes, not as human beings, worthy of a better future. He says he is the one who can give africanamericans struggling economically a better future. But if you go back to august 2011, in New Hampshire, heres what he said. According to the New Hampshire union leader, talking about bill and Hillary Clinton. Two people, hillary and bill clinton, who really devoted a lot to africanamericans. They did probably as much as anybody, and he made them into racists, talking about obama. Hannity in september 2011, he said, whether you like them or dont like them, theyve done so much for africanamericans. What changed . I think what weve seen with this administration, what weve seen with secretary clintons leadership, is no new ideas. Weve seen too many communities that have been taken for granted. Mr. Trump has laid out his plan for an urban removal. American urban removal. Youre talking about the obama administration. He was complimentary of the clintons, specifically, on this point, five years ago. Number one, he wasnt a candidate then. Also, weve seen does he think differently . No. But now were contrasting on specific issues. As we talk about tax reform, as we start going into issues like School Choice and how we make communities better, talking about infrastructure development, Hillary Clinton has not been a leader on these issues and has been a failure, id say, on the issues. Mr. Trump put together a positive plan. Think about this, how late in the cycle we are, that we still have a candidate, mr. Trump, saying i want to be a president for all americans. Not just some americans in some states or some communities. He wants to be a president for all americans. I think hes going to really surprise people on november 8th with how well he does.
