Security and medicare and unfortunately, rehab hospitals with broken necks and hips and all that. And wanted someone with a Broad Spectrum of experience and came to me and asked me if i would run. I did a lot of philanthropy and what spoke to me most is the work you can do is helping your constituents and that was a philanthropy and how i felt about Southern Nevada and so great for me to live there and family and all my friends there and i can help people there and take the voices here and use them to hopefully drive good legislation in a commonsense way. Host you mentioned senator harry reid. Was that his specific pitch to you . Rep. Rosen i lived there nearly 40 years and have a lot of friends in common especially during my philanthropy worked and when they reached out to me, they said you have been working so hard in the community to bring services and try to do good things, you can just take it to the next level. Host did you ever see yourself in politics before this . Rep. Rosen if you talk to anyone who has been a synagogue president , it prepared me for here. They have a 10acre campus and we serve as a hub for so Many Community services and work for Family Promise and Senior Health fairs, tax services, open up our building to Community Service groups like aa and all those different things. And so you see across the spectrum of the kind of people who come to your church or your synagogue. Military families, seniors, single mothers, fatters, widows, people who have cancer. You see every type of person. It is a Cross Section of what the district is. So i feel like helping them really taught me when i heard their stories and what we are trying to do for them in a small way, i can take on in a big way. Run. At is why i decided to host one of the issues that has come up is increased threats to Jewish Community centers and vandalism of jewish cemeteries, what has caused that . Rep. Rosen there is a vale of secrecy and that emboldens people and they dont have to come out and this election cycle, there has been a lot of anger for whatever reason, some of it deserved, some of not and has emboldend people in not so good ways, its never again for everyone. Never again for hate is for everyone. Not just if you are jewish, if you are latino or lgbt, whatever that is, we should really be a country with these great values that arent built on hate.
