CSPAN2 Sam Sorbo Words For Warriors October 27, 2022

An author. The greatest. Hes not even my favorite. How did you get him to write a book . Was it your idea . Want to go to college if it serves your needs and its financially a reasonable decision. But lewere convinced today by the powers that be, by the experts that everybody can go to college and spend whatever it takes and thats not a Good Business plan for anybody. He told me he wasnt going to college i said you need to do et something with your time. Thats academic. You need more academics i think and so i suggested he write a book like, mom, what am i going to write a book about . You like politics, start with somethingpolitical thats humorous. You sent out to saying colleges like an expensive lottery. It is. Id forgotten idid that. But it is. We live in a society where our schools are really forcing us to think about ourselves as the highest Value College prep career. Thats their focus. Thats the promise. Parents are like how many kids go to college, how many graduate, how many go to college and all of thatand where did they go to school and what are their earnings potentials . So our focus of life is we need to make money. We are taught for 12 years of precollege that your highest value, your worth is tied to how much money you make. And thats dangerous paradigm to instill in young people. And at the same time we remove spirituality. Thats just silly. Thats crystal. You have World Religions that are all the same and spirituality and his silliness and we believe in science and a hard cold facts and whatever so unfortunately there is a tradeoff that happens f. The children understand that there just money earners and i dont know about you but i gave birth to three children and they are not cash makers, quite the opposite but i dont expect them to grow up to be cash machines either weve adoptedthis. , its a lie and college prep is part of that. Because college prep, Career Readiness is thats not being born out. We got kids graduating college and they cant hold a job much less a career and their 80,000 in debt or more so we can just put that aside. Thats a lie and we know ep thats a lie but what is college prep . Oncollege prep is just convincing the children and parents youve got to go spend the money to go to college to get back money. You got to win the money. And then youve got at 55 or 60 years old and maybe theyve made it, maybe they won the lottery. Theyre making the money. And theyre not happy because money doesnt bbuy you happiness and theyre going whats wrong with me, im not happy. We completely ignore the spiritual side of life and youre looking at endoflife e at 60 or whatever and going whats it all about alfie . So its like a midlife crisis. Engineered into the system. He was homeschooled along with his two siblings. You come out with a new guide which it about what youve learned homeschooling. This is a playbook for Home Learning. I did a conference and developed this resource for parents so they could come and take notes and its basically almost like fill in the blanks. To work through why were talking about Home Learning instead of school because this whole paradigm is a full paradigm. The whole paradigm is built on lies and thats my whole mission now is just to free people is really its an education in a sense because weve just been enslaved to this School System who believes that is beall and endall and not only is it not the be all and end all but its a system, this systematic deception of the youth. First of all the first thing you learn in school is syou have to ask a question. Theres barrier to entries to asking questions but education should begin with questions. We shouldnt be deterring students from asking questions. Then theres failure is bad, ask any entrepreneur how he succeeded and hell tell you i failed a lot. Failure is not bad, status and said i didnt fail 10,000 times, i just found 10,000 ways not to make alightbulb until i made a lightbulb. So the first is dont ask, they dont try and the number one question that schools say is will this be on the exam . Thats just dont think. Thats a false paradigm, its not education. So i want parents to consider Home Learning which is really more focused on the individual. We want to empower children to become the most they can be, the best they can be, not the most money that they can get , thats the difference. How did you make that decision to homeschool . I went through first and second grade in a very good public school. We moved for the school and things work fulfilling what i thought education should be. It was much more about class management which it is. And by the way students pushed back on me, how else can you run a classroom, you have to orderin the classroom, of course they have to raise their hands so what would you suggest . Dont put them in the classroom, problem solved. Of course you need order when youre treating children like sheep aand corralling them into classroom with children of the same age by the way which doesnt exist in real life. Youre not preparing these children to engage in real 1 life, youre infantilizing them for 12 years before they get to college which is more infantilizing which is partying, drinking and all of that stuff and it does a disservice to the culture. Its the destruction of the family. Theres so much involved in that d. And what we really ought to do is pay more attention to the words which is why i wrote words for warriors because they say we are educators but theyre not. Because education comes from the latin. The current is over to lead out. To lead a in front of itmeans to lean out so education should be leading the child out into truth. But theyre not doing that, theyre training the child to do what hes told, training the child that is not the expert, training the child not to ask questions but to accept whats given tohim. Thats not education. So you follow with the other two. I started with them so shane i homeschooled through first grade and baby right from the beginning and i did some things wrong. I talk about that in their your kids which is my first education, im not afraid to admit it. Its a difficultthing to step outside the school paradigm. When did you know when you were an actress that you were going to be an author on education . Do you see that trend line west and mark. I was always and map. I studied Biomedical Engineering and then i really wanted to ask but i was convinced by the teacher in school who was a failed actress or self that nobody could succeed in acting. Which makes sense because he ol didnt succeed, she was Teaching High School so i was deterred from choosing acting and then there was a lot of water under that bridge but i ended up going into acting. And what i understood was they lie when they say to young women you can have it all. Thats a lie. Theres so n many lies that are now built into the system of the school that we have and the people who are teaching because they went through teaching colleges and the textbooks because the textbooks have all been n born over the years. Why do we need textbooks, theres not that much meat, theres a lot of the old. We didnt need new math textbooks but they changed it and what parent doesnt want their child, expected. Why would we even accepted . We were trained to accept and not question. So the whole thing is going off the rails but whats fascinating to me is covid offered us a grand opportunity to take a deep hard look at what were being told so words for warriors is a book where i talk about language and the way they changed the work so that they say words that we think we understand what they mean but we dont. So for instance, the word proficient. What would you think youd need this for on a test percentage to rank as permission . 80. Some people say 75, some say 90. In the state of ohio 38 percent is now defined as proficient. Well, if thats proficient whos to argue . Theyre achieving proficiency , but youre not asking what they mean by proficient. In the state of oregon, the governor recently signed into law that you dont need to read or do math to graduate high school. Then how are we defining education if you dont mind . I thought if they were calling the 3rs which by the way the 3rs are not expeditious and its alive because its not 3 are. Its not even to. Its reading, writing starts with a w, hello and arithmetic. But not only that t, once we know how to read are you educated . Number you still have to go read everything. And learn how to analyze it and test it for veracity and use it. So the 3r is not education, its a tool of education. But then you have to go and get educated. Your words for warriors your newest book doesnt have an introduction. Its a list of words with your definition plus efsome comments. Its a lexicon. It does have an introduction though because i pointed out in the introduction that the lesson that i think is really important that i gleaned from teaching my kids this is a paradox. I think it still in their. This is the paradigm that i want people to understand. When you are sacrificing school, when you give up school youre not actually sacrificing much. But what youre getting on the other end is all life with your kids, its a relationship with your kids as a family unit which is irreplaceable but youve been hoodwinked into thinking that school isimportant. By the people who make money on schooling. So in my introduction i talked to my kids because when we go to a community and we have conversation once a week and the kids were asking me why do we have to go have conversations and so i tell them the story of wealth, two people meet, one of them has a caveman, one of them has a spear thats like beautiful and sharp and long and straight and the other one has a basket, never seen this fear before but he gathers berries and they hold water. The most amazing tool. Neither of them have seen other tool. So they hit upon this scheme that they will Exchange Tools and they do. An they both are. Wealth is generated in the exchange. Its a spiritual thing. Wealth is generated in the t exchange. Okay. That works with work to and we have a conversation. We both believe leave it if its a good conversation wealthier. You teach me things, i teach you things i hope, i hope im telling you things perhaps you dont know. This conversation ewhere trying to make other people wealthy. There is an exchange that happens and its on a spiritual level because we dont know. Dsit just happens. But thats how wealth is generated. We are losing our words because there are people who seek to shut us down, have younoticed . Youre not allowed to speak, they shut off peoples mics at the school board meeting. I want to silence people, they dont want the wealth generation they create so thats why its important to me. One of the words and words for warriors you have is cancer cancel. My favorite word in the book is ntc. And ntc is a nonplayer character gand a nonplaying character is from a videogame term. The Video Game Developers create a character that they need to help the player get from point a to point b instead of just putting on the screen go from point a to point b they create a character that says to unlock the door you must score more or something likethat. So their programs with one or two or three phrases, thats it. Wereliving in a world of npcs now. Weve been programs. Your mask over your nose. Were dealing with people who have been programs. Thats why you can offer grades to people because they know not what they do. Fair share. Is this a quiz . [laughter] well you know, we talk about fair share but we have to define our terms. What do you mean by fair . Thats a very deeply misunderstood term. Its whats fair to me might not be fair to you. Are we going to agree that we need to get our fair share, thats not an agreement. Thats just kind era. Thats like an illusion. We both agree it should be fair. But its completely meaningless, it should be fair, youreright. Moving on. What about progressives . A progressive is somebody, you didnt print me for this and its been a while since i read the book. A progressive is somebody who believes that they are working towardsthe future but typically they got things backwards. And in the book i get a little snarky, im a little bit sarcastic. My husband is more sarcastic than i am. I think reagan got his sarcastic sarcasm more from kevin. Youre both very sarcastic. We use sarcasm and we have to be careful with sarcasm h. Because it can be hurtful. But i get a little snarky, i think one of the definitions i ended was. , its a fun book. Another word in your book, and misogyny. Ill show you this one and you can look at it. Originally meaning someone who hates women the term is diluted to meet menin general. Any man is automatically a misogynist. Of course now youre not really sure what a man is. So it could be anything. It could be my dog. My dog might be a misogynist and i would never know. Of course shes a female dog. Its terrible. I love truth. I tried to walk in truth and its very difficult when youve seen so much of the world being seduced by the lies. And some of the things that are happening is abject time child abuse. It is inappropriate to someone elses children at a very young age of anything sexual, anything regarding sex. It is completelyinappropriate. And wrong. And its child abuse. And in one instance a child sitting on a mans lap is pedophilia. And in inanother instance its drag queens storytime. I fail to see the difference really. So we have to be a little bit more careful with our words and without understanding but ultimately it comes back to the fact that we have been trained to avoid discernment. In school, you can have it all. You dont need to choose, you dont need to decide everything is okay. And thats dangerous. Because thats also a lie. So we have to be careful. I spoke with a young woman last night trying to figure out, she wants to go abroad. She doesnt know if she wants to stay for a full year or whatever andshes trying to make this decision and i said is part of it because you feel likeyou have a degree that you need to use to make money . She said yes , i work hard for my degree and i should make money and i said you should only make money its working within your degree field makes youhappy. Not that you have to just chase your bliss but you have to find out what feed your soul. Thats what were not teaching children that they have a soul, that they have an inner something they crave. Were teaching these children that there is no spirituality, that there just a collection of accidents of nature. A collection of cells. That life has no meaning except as a cash machine. What do you expect from these young people . Were actively robbing them of any sense of purpose for their lives. And were redisarming them, were teaching young kids that if you write a pop chart in the shape of a gun youll be suspended. If you point your fingers you will be suspended from school. If you bring in a little g. I. Joe gun replica thats zero tolerance. No gun. Guns are bad, little boy. Do you think were yofighting Second Amendment rights on capitol hill . The battle is already being one. You just havent caught on yet those kids when they grow up, they wont want to touch guns. They wont lift a gun to prove their freedom. Theyre going to just sacrifice it all. Theyll surrender withouta fight. What are you up to . Six, i think. Whats your process. I get impassioned about doing something and then i just start writing. I got passionate about words for warriors. Fascism is leftwing. Fascism is left wing. Fascism is a leftist ideology. It has nothing to do with right wing ideology. If you go for the right youre here, youre in libertarian phil where theres no rules, you go into anarchy, thats not fascism. Fascism m is leftwing. So they use the term fascist in order to paint people as people when theyre not fascists theyre actually right of center. And it bothers me. I dont like being lied to and i dont like other people being lied to and other people buying into the lie and becoming npcs which is repeating stupid words they dont understand. As a conservative and a christian do you feel blackballed . No, yes and i dont care. I would never sacrifice the truth for a paycheck for my honor m. I would never do that. I know where my priorities are. Theres so many people who prioritize work and they lose their soul. I get emails from studios and i get emails from people hey, i want to make the movies you by make and by the way after i sacrifice my career it was redeemed, it came back to me. I wrote a movie, i startin it and its on the screen, it did well. I would never have written that story for myself. Then she redeems her career, i was just impassioned to write a movie and my cowriter said you haveto play this part. I sacrificed. I got the best end. Youve met my son. Hes my pride and joy. I did that, i dont take credit for him but i get to have some of that in mylife. What would i get instead, maybe some good parts in movies . No thank you. You have to prioritize. So it came back full circle and in the process of that, yes, my husband became more vocal and it sort of blew us out of hollywood because theyre just not interested. Okay, fine. We do things onour own terms now. And its frustrating for him because i think there are a lot of parts that kevin would love to be involved in, a lot of good movies being made that they just wont have somebody whos outspoken. Total line. You cant be saying the truth like that. They took him off of lincoln, they took them off facebook, yyoutube is censoring me and my show, they justhavent taken me down yet, they will eventually. Im not big enough to prevent censoring but the priorities are right and i sleep at night. I work hard. Im trying to make peoples lives better. Thats meaningful. I sacrifice other things in order to do that because it gives it meaning and more value and my life is more meaningful. Thats thegrand equation. Author sam sorbo, thank you for your time.
