Perhaps in 12 minutes but close enough. Of course i go ahead. I will announce at the next speaker in panel. I had been asked to be really short introduction. James green is the director of Planetary Science and i think that hes always been there since 1979. I think he really knows what its all about. Jim, i think we have a wonderful International Panel this morning and i will introduce each of our Panel Members the first one is saved. He is a member of the emirates Strategic Planning team. The team and its duties are to ensure that the impact of the journey to mars would be sustainable leaving and everlasting effect. He is also the cofounder of a Youtube Channel that aims at making Science Technology accessible to our youth in that area. Has been quite successful. [applause]. Next he works at the Mission Operations and integration center. In japan. He received his degree in the Space Systems engineering section. For an autonomous walking robot under microgravity environment. He is currently in charge of that in terms of the main lead. Lets introduce him. Thank you. Our third panel member this morning he is from the Space Corporation and he has been the project Design Authority he holds a degree in physics with the university of noah he has specialized in control systems and Digital Electronics and system engineering. The Design Authority a space for italys science and exploration activities. How we had organized the panel today. Relative to the science thrust. All of the International Program this of course is truly an exciting time it was mostly the u. S. Space agency. And what we see happening over the last seven years is not only new additions to mars. The mom mission. But also new plans that will make this really exciting from an international perspective. It is shown on the over you and some of the plans. There are a significant number of orbiters doing great. These are the odyssey missions from napa. The mars express. And the maven orbiter and as i mentioned the mom orbiter. Currently on the surface we had two that are operating quite well. One is opportunity that had landed in 2004 that 90 day wonder that just keeps on working. Continuing it to do some very exciting times. And then sitting in gail crater at the shoreline of the ancient oceans curiosity and is going quite well. It landed in 2012. It is continuing to make some spectacular measurements as it starts to have up. In 2018 may of next year nasa will be launching the Insight Mission this is not a rover. Is a platform it will sit at a location just a few Degrees North of where curiosity is and as a platform is designed to take measurements my drilling into the surface and measuring the heat flow as a planet continues to admit heat and start cooling down from its initial accretion for a halfbillion years ago. Who also plopped down onto the surface a seismic instrument ever made. And at mars it will detect what we believe our natural but also impacts that are occurring on a regular basis based on media rights that are coming into the atmosphere all the time. To try to understand much more about the structure of mars but also how those resources can be used for human exploration. The 2020 opportunity that begins in july will begin with a huge array of missions. I think its sort of like the highway to mars. It opens up and that one is going to be packed and we start out the top of that opportunity with the space space x launch of a red dragon that will be followed at the end of the opportunity we believe with another red dragon. Those head been announced by space asked. But in addition to that nest that will be launching the 2020 rover. This is the rover for what we havent exactly selected a site there three sites in contention to which they are areas in which we would consider on the shoreline of the ancient ocean from mars. But also where we believe there has been a blowing of water. Of thermal activity. Deep in the past. We have to down select from those three coming up soon. In addition to that nasa will launch we will launch xo marv marge roller. It will make another number of measurements. China has also announced that it is launching in orbiter. It will have a rover move out and begin to interrogate the surface. They have announced the hope mission which will be the solar wind interaction. What a spectacular opening of the highway and what will be happening. And then as we move into that decade 2024 they have announced they would be designed to interrogate. As i always like to think about it. They are really the space station up mars. And then later on in the decade is more plants. Both from potentially the samples that are created. There is a brief scientific overview. Its not go where no human has gone before. It is really the pioneering efforts that are being laid out and executed by that. And so to say need to talk about the uaes activity. We believe that as he said we are at the cusp of the new age of exploration. You can say that we believe as well that in order for us to move into the future the Space Exploration is the next step. To be able to contribute to that. Im supposed to have a clicker but i will just move to the next slide. Now what you forgot to mention as well as a Program Director of the new program of that march 2117 program. In as i said our mission and our vision in our vision is quite simple. They took planetary travel. Now how we might achieve that vision is by establishing a lasting colony on mars with international collaboration. We want to embed discussion. We want to focus as well on research and development. As well as collaborating. They are enabled. We want to enable the youth to play an active role in housing the global efforts for other ones of those. Were going to do everything. Based on the resources in the challenges that are presented. If we look at this. We see ourselves as supporters and some we see as orchestrators. We bring two different entities together. With some of these programs that have not been there yet. Now some of you may ask why are you guys really doing this . Simply we live in a rough neighborhood in that part of the world. With the neighborhood that has over a hundred million youth with 35 unemployment. One is that these numbers create a negative section. We wanted to show them that. Youd be able to uplift your. To show a message that through science and technology in Space Exploration we can contribute and do good. I am open for questions. Thank you. Lets now switch i would like to say thank you very much to give me a chance. With the exploration and now we made that with a scenario we have just finished the heart examination with the exploration scenario. With the integrated scenario and as you can see the upper left side. The human exploration mission. This scenario is very easy to divide most of them now have the fight. Our final goal in our mission is very important. How do i say that. The luna or the luna soffit. How to make enough to have the mission. The affordability or the effectiveness. This integrated scenario has a very big pissed picture. Its very important. So my next step is to dilute it. The next slide please. Of course we have already cooperated with us. It shows on this slide. Now the next step is on the moon. Or if we can with the topic of the moon. So it is one idea. The human to mars mission to make it more convenient. With the japanese integration. But maybe with that. Thank you. Thank you very much. The big scenario to show up. The mission in which they had been involving the last year. They are articulated it has taken place. It has taken a space craft to mars. The Second Mission is to believe that. In july 2020 and you can see from this slide in the presentation the two missions the First Mission in 2016. It is made of two spacecraft. It provides the communications for the future assets to be launched there. And landing that type. In october of last year. They arrived 4 kilometers there. In the same to do the last part of information. And that population problem. The Second Mission is the one in which they have now provided that at least for the exploration. It is also launched there and is with the it will bring to them a big lander containing that. About about 350 kilograms approximately. The mission of which in search of a presence of life is led by our company which is in a tight company. Those that were in the premises. For the 2020 mission we are the major contribution from germany. The design in the development and manufacturing testing of that model. With the contribution is from russia. To have that. With significant parts with the guidance and control of the model itself based on experience that we have acquired and finally it is produced by the uk also a good contribution from italy. They will provide that. To come back to the 2016 mission there was a primary objective. Into the landing on mars i used to say that we have demonstrated the objectives because we have that. With a very good fitting with our simulation and forecast we didnt do the landing unfortunately. I would say we did a hard landing. Lets say unfair. But nevertheless we now have an orbiter around mars which is doing pretty will it is landing to identify that in fact it is going to that. It is a longer breaking season. And today is doing pretty well. The task is already provided. Providing the communication between the demonstrating module six minutes of transmission not a lot full of it that we will use it for the 2020 mission. Besides that they will provide an important science contribution by looking for the traces of gases it might be an important place of existence or the life on mars. The 2020 mission as i said before is much more complex to finding that existence of life. And for this there is a very complex that will provide all the extra mental means to find this with existing life. It is also equipped which will allow us to dig into the subsequent face. The depth of 2meter which is the support it is very easily the possibility. This will be the right one to start with. This is the orbiter together. It was mounted on top of the spacecraft that you can see in this picture also the big 2. 2meter diameter in which you can see that by the orbiter to communicate with the earth. And here with the landing the name of the famous italian astronomer who was one of the pioneer in the planet. At the end of the 80s. Of the 19th century. With a picture of the film it was supposed to protect it from the high friction and actually did its work. They are trying to prove that it was well protected. At the right time. When the functions separate. The overview of the 2020 mission. With a composite in the left is 1200 kilograms. On the right with the first one that is coming in. It is the first one which is being manufactured. It is now right before the testing. Of course this is more than that. And finally this 2020 mission on the left side we are deployed. On the ride to extend. With the elliptical with the important part it was rather complex. Which is now we are mounting or assembling the model of it. And in fact this one is a view on the left side of this. It is a good representation of the final flight one. With the station of the model. Which is been attested now. Ive seen it working a few days ago. I think this is it. Thank you very much. [applause]. I think this gives us a great opportunity. If we can turn up the lights. Thanks to all of you. That might change. It remains an interest in treatment of microgravity. They are trying to prove the adequacy during the interplanetary portion. Another has been consideration in japan of the possibility of demonstrating it. Can you toss where that stands. [inaudible] that was the budget for that important program. It is to the chief translator. How do i say. Maybe if we can try to with it transportation. We wish you success thank you so much. My question is the specific to the uae. Youd be able to provide such beneficial products for the weather and improving the life of those who are living in the farmlands and everything. With that comes your political support. In regards to that social pressure that youre going to feel. What are they going to provide for that. Can you just repeat your question. In regard to the social pressure that you face. You currently made products that were great for the average citizen but what does marge had to do with them. With the niche leadership that you mentioned earlier. Is a very good question. Even though that they are currently there this week. A lot of people dont understand im sure you can understand why they dont get why humanity is there. Whenever you start to explain that a lot of the water filters that are used today that are used in rural areas give them water they come out with a spinoff from space. And they go okay. Invest more in that. Once you show them the spinoff and how todays modern society is based on Space Exploration to a large extent people start to understand has just that that asked the a lot of the efforts was in the awareness aspect. With the mission and allowing the people to understand why were doing it was a vital aspect in making sure that it is sustainable. So we are were focusing on awareness and it was and still is a big aspect of all of our mission and we are gradually starting to see our get the acceptance of going to mars. One aspect is and that is where we got a lot of those positive feedback. We commend you you guys are at least investing in space. Because someone has to. It needs a homegrown model. Good luck. My name is jonathan. It is really exciting to see from different parts of the world especially hearing from the uae. I really commend you for this effort. We talk about multilateral work between countries and i wanted to ask all of you how has the multiple lateral work have a hope that you bring the knowledge that you work with. In years to come thank you. I will start with that. They continue with some of our missions. It is really important. We are going to continue to do that and grow it as other nations. We welcome. I understand from the questions here that there is a lot of interesting concerns on what to do. With the exploration. In the solar system. If we can get from people in the human kind. I think that we are faced with that. The important point of the human investigation. It is the humidity lesson. It is also to explore and to try to improve i would say even independently from the final time. Has something that is within the human kind. Therefore i think there must be a mix up prize in investment. We have to design our future in that way. For us we have started the space program. And the way we started that phase was we spent that to south korea. They stay there for almost a decade. We brought back to that knowledge. They are collaborating with universities and others the method in which we were doing this. To transfer knowledge. For us it was very important. We are working to transition that knowledge. Into the Space Exploration. And we are currently seeing a lot of interest we had when people from all over social media asking can we just join that. We are seeing that human aspect. Mars is the platform of creating hope. And to make sure that if you can get to mars you can do anything. You see berkeley. I have a question for the xo mars mission. Specifically the life detection with the controversy. And the dilemmas that came because they detected life initially. With the exception of that. It went away. The investigator will tell you that he found life on mars. So what ended up overruling him and his other experiments was something that resonates with all of us. Extranet claims require extraordinary evidence. In life must be the explanation of last resort. You are sending a craft to search for life. That will be embroiled unless you had addressed how those experiments will do what they couldnt do. Im very curious how youre going to do that. To answer this question goes into a scientific aspect the elaborate nest. With those taken. Of the terrain and there are three experiments. They are supposed to perform in on board. And inside to take 20 or 25 now. I dont remember that. And now they take the subject deck. This can give a good probability of success. Actually we think that the experiment should avoid the work that is happening for instance with that. That gave only one proof. I think with that we will have to end. It was a very exciting time. [applause]. The program said that there would be a mystery guest from hollywood. A special message. Something just as good i think. They would engage and educate. It is a method to exchange. Standing up in front of an audience expecting a hollywood celebrity is certainly risky business. I am pleased to help transition us to a discussion focused on inspiring the martians of tomorrow. As we had been discussing getting humans to mars is a challenging task. We need to cultivate the future workforce. And to begin with we need to motivate abroad audience to actually care about humans going to mars why we are going how we are going to get there and what were gonna do to make them feel really involved in the process. They are possibly disappointed about having we want to give people a chance to turn the lights in the camera on. And have them tell the story of the mars explanation. Im pleased to let you know. Its an activity opening later this month. Inviting college in early career professionals to visualize the journey to mars. The activity supported by nasa and several fls partners. It will remain open for an entire year. And culminate in a screening event. We will have some key figures. Please visit the website or contact me. Now exploring mars likely out longterm human activity. We would also like to help our current children to feel a part of this human story encouraging them to be part of our future. All of the analytical skills required. But we also want them to be able to communicate. And then fostering. I would like to just briefly mentioned that we are also developing a second science integrated with our activity to inspire and educate now children. Potentially partnering with us. Just let me know. In the next coming session is really important. We engage and educate. Working together we could inspire the world about space humans to mars. Thank you very much. Mike mike i now have the great pleasure to announce one of the future generation. And to face it. Much i would like to go. There must be better younger seated people. Im talking about that. It has a passion for space. And for them they are very happy that
