North korea has conducted a third test of its Nuclear Defense program. The white house is calling its a highly provocative act emphasizing its vigilant in the face of north korean provocation and commitment to allies in the region adding it is a violation of several u. N. Security Council Resolutions and a threat to u. S. And interNational Security. According to the north korean state media the nation set off a device underground at a northeastern test site. Experts say north korea is working to build weaponry small enough to fit on longrange missiles and north korea is calling its test a First Response to u. S. Hostility. The Senate Armed Services committee is scheduled to vote on the confirmation of chuck hagel today as our nations next secretary of defense.
