The fact of the matter is were probably going to continue to subsidize Higher Education in this country to a tune of a lot of friggin money which will drive up the cost of care. Why its so expensive now. The fact of the matter is we have a heck of a lot of money handed out to state governments that give away stuff for free, it doesnt work out particularly well and doubling down doesnt make it better. Kennedy the various pet projects are the details, the structuralism is essentially the same. Its expanding government to supposedly make things better, but what is so shocking to me as weve seen the expansion of government. Weve seen more taxes, more regulation, weve seen more intrusion and twothirds of americans say we are on the wrong track. Thats according to a cnn poll. A majority of americans dont trust government. Why on earth would we throw more government at the problem which has been created by governments . You know what . I dont know. That is more government. Bernie sanders wants somebody else to pay for everything for everybody else and the math doesnt make sense. I tell you one thing about the south, being from the south, talking about South Carolina. We can get mean if we need to, thats the politics of South Carolina, with the tip of the hat to the great political consultant lee atwater and hand you a glass of sweet tea, and as you tip it back, well cut you there. If he does well, i think hes going to go far, and finally starting to attack donald trump, and you got feel good for him, hes been riding the struggle so hard. I feel like thats when hes at his weakest when he goes after trump. Kennedy insincere attacks. Starting to do it successfully. We hit that with eminent domain. He sent out a tweet this week where he called donald trump a liar, a loser and whiner, things we never saw before, and it was successful. I feel hes getting the confidence back that donald trump sucked from him. Kennedy he had a better counterattack at saturday nights debate, and the crowd started shushing him and gave jeb energy. I dont think if he has a momentum shift, you know, i always want the underdog to do better. I go from devcon5 to defcon 1 at one sneeze. When i watch bush, i want him to get mad because if that bully was talking over me like that, and i think its critical what you made the point, debates matter in all of this. And that is his biggest insurmountable struggle is people dont like him. They really dont. But he is great on the campaign trail, and you know what . Kennedy doing good, curiously watching all of this, the assumption is black voters are going to by and large vote for Hillary Clinton, shes got the vote in the bag. Is that true . Well, no, no, actually thats a very big lie. Black voters of my grandparents age and maybe older than my parents have traditionally been democrats because the Democratic Party for the last 50 years is perceived as a party that cannot protect rights against the more unscrupulous politicians on the other side, that is true. But theres a contingency in the black community that are working class, middle class, that are men, that do not regularly vote that are energized by sanders. As we travel the world, i have been stopped by ten men in the last two days that all said im going vote for the first time in years or im going to vote when i thought i wouldnt vote for obama after sanders because of the interview i saw with you him. People, when we sat down at a restaurant together, a woman walked in and immediately embraced him. The Community Knows him. No one votes for one candidate except probably barack obama, the black community is definitely diverse have no fear. People supporting sanders at family picnics, were out, there find us at the picnic and well talk more about it. Kennedy killer mike, you met bernie, you really like him. What is it about his message that you like so much . Being africanamerican and southern, the greatest social justice fighter you learn about and the first one you learn about is Martin Luther king. My grandmother was a civil rights advocate, she marched with dr. King raised in alabama, my mother was a lieutenant and organizer with dr. Martin king. The late wife of andrew young taught me what social justice was. The only politician i had in my lifetime whose policy matched up with king and social justice is him. Coates who is a great brother, wrote a great book talking about reparations with sanders held his feet to the fire for that, came out and said hes voting for sanders. For me, sanders makes sense on the level that social justice comes off first for he does for africanamericans and we can once again look to be Going Forward in progression and not digression. Kennedy what endorsement do you think Bernie Sanders needs in the south and beyond . I think that the black religious base, people who call themselves reverends and bishops and pastors need to hold themselves to task. If we followed dr. Kings philosophy for 50 years, hoped fair politician who would restore social justice to the people who most deserve it, the poor, the downtrodden, the sick, the black, the women, the gays, the population on the outskirts, if the only politician who stands is the guy from brooklyn who talks with a funny accent. Thats Bernie Sanders. Im going to ask people to take their bible, representation of jesus, take social justice, champion dr. King and hold the politicians to task and say who best fits the people that im telling people every sunday we should aspire to be. If we do that, you come with Bernie Sanders, if you dont, you are lying. Kennedy i like the positivity, you look at politics with very different lens, i have a hard time with Bernie Sanders finances and squaring spending trillions of dollars when a lot of billionaires taxed 77 are going to leave the country. If you start the big projects, my worry is you wont finish them. But whats more curious to me about you is you like rand paul as well. I do, man. I liked rand for his fathers philosophy also. I think answers on both sides. Dont marry one side, i dont agree with everything sanders agrees with. Very far from him when it comes to guns and other certain issues. My vote oftentimes is dedicated to the american i feel it needs. The working class and the middle class deserve a break. I believe in this country, we are smart enough to come up with solutions so might not get the extreme hes fighting for but keep the other extreme away and sit down at a table together and come up with solutions. Im tired of polarizing issues to the type im not in friendships i once had because i disagree on the issue. The candidate is the candidate we will best work with. By we, i mean regular americans do. I think one american comes in as superman and saves the day . Absolutely not. Do i think sanders has to listen to constituency and work policy around it . Yeah, i dont think its true. It is insane. You know, its kind of nice the idea behind that which a couple of people have put out into circulation is the idea that if you have bernie as president , it will create a Republican Congress and theyll be at loggerheads and well have a donothing government and thats better than a dosomething government. Seems have reached, sanders is so delusional on Economic Policy and not that great on Civil Liberties or Foreign Policy or drug legalization issues to close the gab for libertarians. Kennedy interesting you say, that Andrew Carrel on daily beast said he could reschedule Foreign Policy first day in office and better than average at Civil Liberties, you say that is not so. I say the socialism is enough of a factor to nullify support. Thats what im saying if sanders hes not making pot legalization or getting the government out of peoples lives, front and center in his campaign. When you start to think about he wants to have an even more kind of invasive, you know, health service, where it would be single payer, he wants to make college free, he wants to make everything free and get money for it for the 1 , it would mean such an overhaul of the economic system, it would be pretty ridiculous, and so hes not so great on the other issues, but lets give it a shot. Kennedy its a gamble. Talk about donald trump, the other night i asked are there any libertarians who lead toward donald trump, it was a rhetorical question and thought the answer was overwhelming no but rabid Trump Supporters on twitter went nuts. You know, in a weird way, if donald, if the donald was true to his new york values where he wanted to keep people out of the bedroom and the board room, i could see that, but he isnt. Hes both a bully and unmoored. He doesnt have governing principle other than that if i think it, it is a good thing and im going to force everybody around me to get along with it. As a result, there are certain things, the same thing with sanders, certain things he says that i could get behind. Kennedy like what . Seems to be less hawkish at this point. He talk about wanting to kill not just terrorists but their families and make them watch. Hes walked back from that and less bellicose than the other republicans, he just recently said i dont want to increase defense spending, ill make it more efficient. Thats better than somebody like ted cruz or marco rubio who have both been trying to increase defense spending without cutting spending elsewhere. So there are elements of donald trump, and you see old footage of him where he says im in favor of reproductive choice, in favor of pot legalization, things like that. Hes not talking that way anymore, and kind of insane. Which on a certain level part of me wants to see that. I would like to live through the collapse of rome, but probably rather watch it on hbo.
