Soldiers are standing guard in belgium and across europe after those raids snagged dozens of suspects in western europe and one of the killers and their french newspaper massacres has been buried. Amy kellogg is following the latest developments live now from paris. Reporter hi, eric. From what i can tell, people across europe for the most part are going about their lives as usual. But when you stop to ask them, they will tell you that this security situation, of course,
is never far from the front of their mind or the surface of their thoughts. People dont know whether these 30 some arrests that have taken place in europe across europe over the last few days has put a significant dent in the jihaddist threat or whether this represents the tip of the iceberg and frankly, what it will take ultimately to melt the iceberg. The focus has shifted in the last couple of days to belgium which per capita, has probably the highest number of jihaddists who have gone off to fight in iraq and syria. Antiterrorist police round up people in the last couple days who had military grade weapons on them and a significant amount of cash among other things. They were planning to carry out an attack yesterday, so they were grabbed just in the nick of time. The army has been deployed around certain cities. Many jewish schools closed yesterday as a precaution. And then the dragnet in this situation here extends all the way to greece. Greek police, antiterrorist units arrested four men this evening. But it turns out the belgium prosecutor is saying this evening that they are not believed to be part of that foiled plot in belgium. Hi peter. Reporter hi. A few hours ago several hundred people made the march from the National Law Enforcement officers memorial to the steps of the u. S. Capitol. The whole point of the socalled sea of blue was to signal to officers across america that not everybody who takes the time to demonstrate is mad at the police. Very frustrating. Very frustrating. Yes, people make mistakes but that shouldnt be a generalization for all. So thats the only word i can think of is frustrating. Reporter there were references to antipolice
protests inspired by events in ferguson and staten island. But organizers say the sea of blue is not a direct response to those much larger demonstrations. There is one contrast to todays demonstrators wanted to highlight. That their event did not result in any violence or any property damage, which is a lot different than the other headlinemaking protests that weve been seeing lately. Every day they go out there and they risk their lives for everyones safety. But people seem to forget that. Were tired of hearing about the publicity. How about pubbizing when the officers do good work . There have been similar marches through cleveland and las vegas. We may see even more, even once the tension between Police Officers and protesters is an afterthought because as the sea of blue was wrapping up today, one of the organizers told the crowd he would see them next year. Reporter bottom line, the sheriff says they need to surrender before this gets any worse cause it can only get worse from here. Arthel . Too bad. Thank you very much. Eric . Looks like more and more it will be Hillary Clinton and she could be running virtually unopposed in the democratic primary for president. Fox news john roberts on the potential pros and cons of rung without the competition. Not since Richard Nixon obliterate add weak field in 1960 has a nonincumbent faced less opposition than Hillary Clinton may in 2016. Which for the Democratic Party may not be all good. Its not good for a party because the Democratic Party needs a real debate about what its for, who its for, what its about, where it will take the country. Reporter certainly running virtual eunopposed would save
her from the pummeling she took in 2008. Youre likeable enough. Thank you. Reporter and she could amos a war chest few could match. But there is a potential down side to a coronation. I think you miss the chance to vet ideas. I think thats what elections are about. Theyre about ideals on how ideas that would turn into policy and then how we govern and how the life styles are for all americans. Reporter with the possibility of no democratic debates, she could skirt thorny questions about the reset with russia and benghazi. What difference at this point does it make . Reporter but skipping the crucible of the primaries could also leave her off her game as she appeared to be launching her book tour last year. We came out of the white house not only dead broke but in debt. The Hillary Clinton i think has proven that when youre off the trail for a while you come back rusty. She certainly came back rusty on that book tour. Reporter the republican candidate, on the other hand, is expected to come out bloodied
but battle hardened in whats expected to be a lively campaign. While Richard Nixon swatted away his republican competition in 1960, he lost the general election. In atlanta John Roberts Fox news. Thanks. The sweep for extremists widening in europe. Protecting innocent people from jihaddists. Are we safe here in the u. S. And whats our strategy . Negotiators are ready again to try and stop iran from building a possible nuclear bomb. This while congress and the white house are on opposite sides on whether sanctions will delay a potential deal. Will they and what do we need to do to do that . Also is the third time the charm for mitt romney . He isnt the only republican flirting with a run for the white house. There is some speculation about whether im about to embark on a political enendeavor in which ive been previously
unsuccessful. Let me state unequivocally that i have no intentntion of running for u. S. Senate in massachusetts

In a joint News Conference yesterday, the two leaders warned the threatened sanctions could cause the Nuclear Talks to collapse. Ress disagree. Including some of the president s own democrats. Molly henneberg in washington with more. Reporter even if it has bipartisan support in congress, president obama again is warning lawmakers that he will veto any bill that comes to his desk that imposes new sanctions on iran if this latest round of Nuclear Talks fails. My main message to congress at this point is just hold your fire. Nobody around the world, at least of all the iranians, doubt my ability to get some additional sanctions passed should these negotiations fail. Reporter president obama says he wants to see if the framework for a new deal to contain Irans Nuclear program
can be reached in march between the u. S. , france britain germany, russia, china, and iran. But hes getting pushback from republicans and democrats such as new jersey democratic senator bob menendez who told the president at a democratic meeting earlier this week that sanctions could not be imposed quickly enough if the talks fall through. And he urged the president to approve them now in case the u. S. Needs that authority in the future. In addition, the new republican chairman of the Senate Foreign relations committee, tennessee senator bob corker, put out a statement saying quote, there is no doubt that it is the leverage provide provided by congress that forced tehran to the negotiating table and i continue to believe that congress weighing in on this critical issue can help these negotiations succeed, not undermine them. President obama may talk more about this veto threat over additional sanctions on iran in his state of the union speech next week. He said something similar in last years state of the union as well. Eric . Thanks so much. From americas election headquarters, the race is on for the white house. Republicans announcing the primary debate schedule. At least nine debates are planned and they promise to be a showdown between the veterans and the newcomers. The establishment and the far right. Who will be left standing . Can that person be the democratic favorite beat Hillary Clinton . Tammy because is a Fox News Contributor, Marjorie Clifton is principal at clifton consulting. Hi. So some democrats may be sitting back snickering that the gop have so many candidates in the race at this point. But tammy, starting with you you say the democrats should not snicker so fast because having that one strong horse in the race could prove to be a handicap. Look, that was the case certainly they thought in 2008. You dont want to get too confident thinking youre
entitled to this and there will be no competition. The lack of competition makes you weak. There is not enough challenge for you to be really up to date on whats happening and what you need to be doing. With the republicans, on the other hand look, since when is having a loft talent a bad thing . I think having a loft talent is a terrific thing and the primary season were going to be able to see these men deliver and well see who survives. Were going to see who really is able to hold up under the pressure. Challenge is good. Like making a diamond out of coal. The more pressure you have, the more you might get from it. So i think its very exciting and i think the democrats are in a very difficult position because look, a lot of them dont like Hillary Clinton and whats their alternative . Marjorie, you say what . Well, i do say it is interesting to have many candidates to choose from. Now, the challenge of that in a primary is it means that party has to pander to the more, in this case, conservative side of the party. How is that going to end up play not guilty a general election when youve said things in a primary that you may have to kind of temper when you get to
the general election . I think part of the challenge with the landscape of the republican candidates right now is there isnt that clear front runner and there is a lot of questions attached to most of the candidates. So the question becomes for example, with jeb bush, can he get past the bush legacy and the bush name . Is he going to be seen as progressive for his party given his positions on some of the social issues . And then you have a recycling of a lot of the candidates we saw in 2012 who werent front runners for a number of reasons. So the question becomes is there somebody new like scott walker, for example that might present the formidable challenge to someone like Hillary Clinton . Youre right, it is interesting to have hillary out and alone on the democratic side but ten again, thats very seasoned politician. And it gives her a chance to build her war chest and really take a more center point party line in the primaries. Lets do a little word association. One word tammy, youre going to go first. Then marjorie. Here we go. Mitt. Winner. Dog on top of the car. Thats not one word. I know. Lets go on. Tammy, jeb . Loser. Family name. Im not doing one word well. I dont
