This is in sonoma county. 60 miles north of san francisco. The fire has more than doubled in size since yesterday morning, covering now more than 21,000 acres. The areas power company, pg e, admitted some of its equipment may have sparked the fire. The company has been shutting off power to tens of thousands of people to lower the risk of flames spreading and now its warning the biggest blackout yet could be on the way. Pg e reports it may have to shut off power to nearly all of its Northern California<\/a> customers because forecasters they winds could be the strongest theyve been in years over the weekend. Look over the side of the fence. Thats the valley and these are the slopes that those flames came roaring up, burning everything in their path, going into this house. The problem is the firefighter simply cannot get to every house quickly enough when those embers land on a roof and set it ablaze. Just to give you a sense of the capricious nature of these fires, this house completely destroyed, 20 feet away, their neighbors not a mark on that house.
