in the senate. He grew up in a suburb of kansas city and reportedly helped out in his fathers iron working and welding shop. He has a degree from university of missouri in three years and went to law school. He took a year off to serve in a gesuit mission in honduras. He was governor and then elected to the senate. His wife has a long resume of public service. She is a secretary of education and former judge and daughter of a former republican governor. Final prepations are under way in philadelphia.
