And thats it for today. Have a great week. And well see you next fox news sunday. Countdown to a super tuesday in the race for the white house again. And will it be a make or break moment for any of the president ial candidates . Lets look at something thats happening right now. Live gop contender ted cruz, looking ahead to indiana apparently. Because thats where he is. A rally set to get under way in evansville, indiana. This is the Old National Events plaza, just dipping in to show you this, as one of the live events this hour. Well show you others as they pop up. But before that state goes to the polls, pennsylvania, maryland, delaware, connecticut, and rhode island are getting ready to have their voices heard. 118 republican delegates up for grabs. 384 at stake for the democrats. Pennsylvania, the big prize on tuesday, the latest wall street
journal polls showing donald trump has a big lead there with 45 support. Senator ted cruz, as we showed you his stage moments ago, is in second with 27 . Governor john kasich is in third with 24. So a lot of tightening between those last two there. And with a path for victory coming down to the wire, every state at this point matters. And the hunt for delegates is getting even more intense, as you might imagine. Both trump and cruz each say they are confident the numbers will add up in their favor. I only care about the first. Were not going for the second and third and fourth and fifth. Heres what i say is his problem. I think we get that 1,237. I have a senator, i have a governor. They both are statistically mathematically gone. They cant win. There are two people and only two people that have any plausible path whatsoever to winning the republican nomination. Me, and donald trump. As i said, plausible path. And for the democrats, Hillary Clinton leading senator Bernie Sanders 55 to 40 . We have fox team coverage. Kristin fisher is live for us in washington, d. C. With new developments on the democrats side. First, lets begin with Senior National correspondent john roberts, who is live for us in hagerstown, maryland, with the latest on the gop. John . Reporter the Donald Trump Campaign looking for a big win here in maryland on tuesday. The real clear politics average, he leads john kasich by 15 points. Leading ted cruz by 17. Trump hoping to pick up the 38 delegates that are available here. Because it is a winner take all state by congressional district. In fact, trump looking to run the table on tuesday, and take home the lions share of the 172 delegates that are available on the republican side. That would put him within reach of hitting the 1,237 majority needed to clinch the nomination before the convention. Trump is confident, as you heard earlier, that hell win on the first ballot at the convention, insisting that based on his
record during the primaries, he is the only logical choice to be the nominee. So he goes in, and one by one knocked out a governor, knocked out a senator, knocked out a governor. And now theres two guys that are limping. Theyre limping. Theyre mathematically out. Ill tell you what. If a guy that is losing by all those millions of votes wins, ill tell you what. Well have some people that are going to be very, very angry. By some analyses, it would really mean that for all intents and purposes, this nominating purpose would be over. Even if ted cruz were to win every single delegate left between then and the seventh of july, he could not clinch the nomination. Then it would be up to those unbound delegates on the republican side to determine whether or not they want to go into july, and have a big floor fight at the convention. And what that potentially could do for the party. Yeah, you know what, i dont know that ted cruz is necessarily going to listen to
that, because i havent seen any signs that hes going to give up, have you . No, there are no signs that ted cruz is going give up. To the contrary, harris. Hes going to fight even harder. Thats why hes in indiana today. He also hopes to pick up a good number of those unbound delegates who are directly elected in the pennsylvania election on tuesday night. In indiana, which is a very large evangelical population, about 31 , that would rival some of the other big evangelical states we talked about. Cruz made an appeal to them. Very strong ties with israeli. Reminding folks there today about being a neutral broker between israel and the palestinians. Heres cruz. And, you know, anyone who cant tell the difference between our friends and our enemies, anyone who cant tell the difference between israel and islamic terrorists who want to kill us, that raises real questions about their fitness
and judgment to be commander in chief. So cruz is not stopping, but Donald Trumps campaign is not ceasing and calling for cruz and kasich to get out. His son eric was on judge janine last night, saying they should do it and do it quickly. But theres another thing starting to bubble under here, harris, that i think is worth mentioning. Theres some people in the Republican Party, in the rnc who think the ultimate play by members of the establishment is neither trump nor cruz. Its to run out the clock on the july convention. Play for a stalemate in which case you would have to have a second convention, probably sometime in late august at which all 2,472 delegates would go into that unbound, basically they could bring anybody onboard that they wanted to as a nominee. Can you imagine if that happened . Back in 1860 for the democrats, thats how Stephen Douglas became the nominee. I remember that part of our history studies, but you said something that was really
interesting. A second so what would that do for the money . I mean, can you unleash the money within the party, the not the donations, but the funding there for that candidate . I mean, thats awfully late to be able to tap in. It would. I mean, clearly, there would be a fundraising flurry. Not even saying that its plausible or possible, but it did happen once in 1860. If members of the establishment really didnt want trump or cruz and couldnt get kasich to rise during the july convention, that would really be the only play to bring in a dark horse, a paul ryan type figure. Nobody wants that to happen. It could literally blow the party apart. There are some people who are members of the rnc who think thats what some folks may be playing for. John roberts with the fox news political insiders today. Now lets go on to the democrats, and another live event to look at. Senator Bernie Sanders holding a rally in new haven, connecticut. We understand Michael Stipe held their own event. Both candidates making their case to voters in the northeast. So many of those comments, those insults, the kind of demagoguery, you have to ask yourself, what really is at stake in this election . And one of the things that is at stake are our rights. And i would hope that rhode island adds its name to the previous other 16 states in saying we are going to go forward with a political revolution. It just gets more interesting by the second. Kristin fisher has details. Sanders sent some very subtle conflicting signals on several sunday shows this morning. On one hand, he said he is not getting out. Hes in this race and he still
sees a narrow path to the nomination. On the other hand, he also seemed more willing to discuss what would happen if clinton does indeed win the nomination. Specifically, what you would need to do in order to win over his supporters. But if you thought that that meant sanders might be ready to back off clinton on the campaign trail, youd be wrong. Today at a rally in rhode island, he accused her of hustling billionaires of campaign contributions. He also asked her about climate change. Madam secretary, if you are concerned about climate change, listen to what the International Communities are saying. Join me and impose a tax on carbon. But clinton made zero mention of Bernie Sanders. She had two events today. One in pennsylvania, another in connecticut. When people run for office on the tea party or whatever else,
and they say they will never compromise, they are basically denying the fundamental tenets of democracy, where we get together, we make progress together. The fact that clinton rarely even mentions sanders by name shows you how confident she is that she has this nomination locked up. Another sign, according to the new york times, her campaign is already seriously discussing who her running mate might be. We saw some interesting names on that list. Deval patrick on that list. So what are we looking at in terms of who we think will walk away with delegates . The latest polls have clinton beating sanders in four out of the five states with primaries on tuesday. Pennsylvania, connecticut, delaware, and maryland. The fifth state, rhode island, it hasnt received a lot of attention. Theres been barely any polls there. But if sanders is able to pull out a win, it will likely be rhode island. That is one state that allowed
independents to vote in the democratic primary, and we all know independents tend to skew more towards sanders. Good to see you, thank you. Heres how it works. You stay put right where you are. For a special americas town hall live from philadelphia. Bill hemmer, Martha Mccallum will take viewers questions live and talk to some of the candidates. You can submit a question on our fox News Facebook page. Lets move on to this fox news alert. New information on the mass murders of eight family members in rural ohio. Officials confirming now that they have found three marijuana growing operations at the shooting scene. The attorney general spoke at a News Conference just a short time ago. He called these murders a sophisticated preplanned execution. Bryan llenas is following this. How does the discovery of the

Fox news has confirmed president obama will announce he is sending up to 250 additional military personnel to syria, to help fight the Islamic State savages. The president is set to make that announcement tomorrow as he continues the final leg of a weeklong trip around the globe. He was in germany today. Protesters greeted him there over a proposed trade deal with europe. Demonstrators voiced fierce opposition to the socalled transatlantic trade and investment partnership, arguing it could hurt consumers and the
environment. White house correspondent kevin cork is traveling with the president in germany right now. So i want to get back to syria. Because this is a story thats kind of been bubbling up all day long. You know the number of troops when he would officially announce what can you tell us whats coming from the president . Its very interesting, harris. Keep in mind, were only talking about 50 on the ground in syria battling isis. You pointed out the audition of 250 u. S. Forces in syria battling isis. That would increase to 300 the total number. Thats six times the number we have on the ground battling isis in theatre. Thats crucial when you think about the fact that this is a president who previously hoped to end the wars in iraq and afghanistan, and who has been successful in doing that. This adds to the dangers and responsibilities of the pentagon. Harris . You look at the timing of things and the whys of things. Why call for troops now . Theyve been doing horrific things for two years or more, isis. Yeah. Its a great question. Listen. Heres what i can tell you. Ive talked to Senior Administration officials on the record and on background. Generally what they say is that. If you notice a change in strategy, its generally a reflection of success. Theyre having success knocking out the leadership of isis. If 50 are doing well, why not have more . That seems to be behind the decision. Clearly there is a great personal risk, not just for our troops, but for the president , theres also a political risk. Respect for the white house. Im more concerned about our troops, and that number is still relatively small. Still want to know what that mission would look like. Real quickly. About the trade deal. What was said about that today . Reporter a couple things. This is what i think people at home need to know about. Theres this huge trade deal that would partner the u. S. And the european union. The president wants to try to hammer this thing and get it just about ratified before he leaves office in january of 2017. Thats why hes also here in europe to meet with european leaders, and particularly here in germany to meet with his german counterpart, chancellor angela merkel. However, its facing fierce opposition not just back home in the u. S. , but also here in germany. Despite all that in the political complications that are surrounding this, saying it still feels like hell make his way over the finish line. It will likely happen after hes out of office. Kevin, thank you very much. This september 11 will mark 15 years since that dark day that changed america. Now, secret government documents could let victims
